Hi

I will try and ask all my questions in one last email so I can decide.

I have never stayed in the infield before. We have camped at Dover several times, Darlington, Richmond, and twice at Charlotte Fall Race(Fleetwood RV). We are going to Martinsville and Darlington again in the Spring of 08.
What is it like watching the race from the infield?

I can watch from Lake Lloyd on the boardwalk, some of them watch from the roofs of there rigs also.
Can you see the track at all from the Red Zone?

If you have a red zone ticket that backs onto lake lloyd then you may be okay, the spots directly on turn 1 and 2 and some of the spots down in 4 are okay. BUT this is a very personal thing and all depends on what you as a person expects to see from a race.

What is the atmosphere in ther infield during the day?

Nothing crazy going on, the usual stuff, because of the fact that Daytona is a huge event, it has a atmosphere more family like than probably any other track during the year.
The night?

Stay out of turn 3 and 4, if you have kids keep them close by at night.
If you are out and about during the day or night be extra careful if you walk, it is a very busy place, lots of traffic, and since it is so loud you wont hear all the cars, bikes, and especially golf carts, we almost got killed by a drunk lady driving one one night.
My wife and I like to have fun, we drink a few drinks, but we dont get loud, or stay up past midnight or so. We like to hang out and talk with people, meet new people, and love NASCAR. We have gotten pit passes at Charlotte and love the infield.

You will fit in fine then
Whats the Fanzone?

Fanzone is cool, I was the first person in it when it opened one morning, go early, it gets busy the closer you get towards Sundays race. If you go to the sandpit and ask nicely the people doing the display might even do something personailzed for you.
Can you have campfires?

Contained in a fire ring, most people get those things from Traget across the street. However one year a neighbour across from us almost burned there camper down
Where do you watch the race from?

We watch from Lake Lloyd
What is the space # of red zone spot?

My spots all back onto Lake lloyd

Great site, just joined today!

2008 will be my 7th year in the infield at Daytona. I have been in the lake Lloyd area before the improvements and also in turn one before I got my current spot in the green section in turn 4. The green section is a controlled access area, you cannot get in unless you are with someone who has a spot in that section. I bring my kids every year. The rowdy area of turn 3 & 4 is the orange section which is the tent camping area. The nice thing about the green section is the tunnel is right there also the cars coming by four wide out of turn four is an incredible site and sound! AWESOME!

Do they let you bring a golf cart inside the track?

ISC does not allow personal golf carts at any of their tracks.

Actually carts are allowed BUT, there is a strict unwritten and not advertised way of going about it, basically you need to have an illness,etc... that makes you really NEED a cart, they then will issue you a sticker, you need insurance, blah,blah,blah....

I looked into this a couple years back when I was going to do the circuit.

There policy on no carts is a good one, as my driver and I almost got killed by a drunken lady driving one night, she actually tried to hit us.....

Texas doesn't allow cart. Even some of there employes can only take there golf carts in certain area's. I was talking to the lady that runs the infield and she stoped an employe and wouldn't allow him into the infield without an sticker.

i remember at Daytona there was an extra big sticker for those that had the credentials, and while at Talladega I talked to a company that travels some of the races and rents them, but I cant remember there names.
