During the winter, NEVER go I-90 under Lake Erire due to the snow machine off the lake.
Always take the 401 to Windsor and cross there.
If you are camping along the way the 1st campground open year round is Monroe Michigan, 1 hours south of Detroit. So thats about 5-7 hours for your first day from Barrie .
Your from barrie right?

From Barrie yes.We just had a major snow fall for about an hour now with thunder.LOL
We would be staying in a motel on our travels down.
Just camping when we get to Daytona.

Yeah that just went through here also, whiteouts for a few minutes, the georgian bay snowmachine must have been kicking up some nice flurries huh?
If your hotelling it, man there is a stop at every exit basically!!!
All I suggest is this
1. Try to do the mountains in kentucky and tennessee during the daylight hours. At night if it is bad weather it can be a handful.
2. Corbin kentucky stop at KFC the 1st one, HUGE pieces of chicken:)

Yeah, Corbin was a nice stop. We stopped there on our way to the August Bristol Race per Mr. Camping's suggestion.

Ron for you yes I95 is the route, and since you live " so far south" weather is rarely an issue for you:p
The great lakes can make things pretty interesting here at times.
I-90 can be closed, so everyone goes through Canada above Lake Erie instead.
Same goes for Lake Ontario.
Water is great to drink but during the winter it can make travelling pretty crazy up here:mad:
