We are in the red zone. Like you said we dont get in and out driving. But walking is good for in and out. I just need to make sure we have all the essentials before we pull in tuesday.
I am hoping I can make friends with the gate keeper...;)

This is key;)
But, you are not always checked as you leave, and there is no way they can see your sticker, so I am guessing if you did have to leave they might just read you the riot act when coming back in.......
I asked them at Pocono this same question, what happens if we need to leave to go to the hospital?
They said well then you can leave.......
Where you are Ron, you can easily walk in and out of 1 and 4, you can walk everywhere, good exercise:)

Not according to the "official" policy, your car has to stay in.
BUT, I have never seen that enforced, and actually during my golf tournament I know several people who came in and out.
Kind of impossible to enforce actually when you think of it.

Thats a good plan, even if you are in Lake Lloyd and can do it, I HIGHLY suggest you not go anywhere Saturday or Sunday, it is a ZOO:mad:

Well hopefully we can get in and out for Wednesday/Thursday at least in the yellow section (even though the website states otherwise). If read the riot act, it won't be the first time (hopefully they won't hit my car with an umbrella like they did one time while parking at Richmond).

An umbrella:shock: wow things must have gotten out of hand:mrgreen:
With there being 2 tunnels, this should make it somewhat easier getting in and out.
Then again, the attendants always like it when you bring them things also;)

I guess I will be right next to you. I am in #40 - red zone.
Will they still have water and dump trucks coming around ?
Anyone know if there is parking area for the toad outside the track on Wed - Friday ?

Yes, they circle all the time.
I will also let you in on a little secret.....
Lake Lloyd does not have sewer, so the guys in the dump ( Honeywagons) will circle your area more frequently, as they are told to take care of the Lake Lloyd guests first:mrgreen:
As a Lake Lloyd member, I can tell you that the Honeywagon is in there at LEAST 3 times a day.

.....and a blind man will also tell you when the honeywagon is near:shock:

Cool Taximan!
This will be our first trip to Daytona. Mr. Camping should have more info ton that.
We are leaving Northern Maryland, driving down on friday, Feb. 8th, stopping overnight somewhere in SC or GA.. Spending a couple nights at a beach campground just 30 minutes north.
Where are you driving from?

I am from South Jersey, but my MH is at Bay Bayou campground in Tampa. So I am flying to Tampa, and driving over either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The area around Bay Bayou has really changed in the last few years, do me a favour would you?
Bay bayou bought out the old trailer park next door, and when I was there last, they where getting rid of all the old homes, and where talking about changing it over to more rv spots, can you confirm this when you get there for us?
If you could pictures would be great:)
My daughter and I actually had Easter and our birthdays at Bay Bayou :)

The no pass outs for cars is crazy. They expect me to stay in for 5 days straight. We planned on going to New Smyrna to catch some SLM races and maybe a dinner on the beach one night.
I called Daytona and got some rude chic and she was no help what so ever. I even offered to spend more money if they had some type of pass/out for cars. She said no. I asked her if I was the only person asking about this problem and she said yes. I found that hard to believe.

Silver, only folks in infield that can drive their cars in and out are folks at Lake Lloyd area. Has been that way for a few years. Now you can get passouts for people but not your vehicle (unless you are in lake lloyd). The turn 1 tunnell is open 24hours a day. If you walk out make sure you get a passout when you walk out.

You have to park your tow vehicle outside turn 1 entrance and walk out to get to it. This works during the week, but you will have to stay put on Sat. and Sunday.

Taximan is there free parking outside of turn 1? If that's the case I could handle that. We are camped in the middle of turns 1 and 2 on the fence. That wouldn't be a bad walk. I asked the chic if there was any parking outside turn 1 and she said no. All of her awsers were 1 one word "NO".

Here is the reply I just got from Daytona...
Hi Mike, I apologize for the confusion. The only areas we allow driving in and out are Lake Lloyd Premium and West Lot. There is a nearby campground that offers overnight car parking. They are: www.speedweekscampground.com http://www.speedweekscampground.com
Thank you, Brenda Dorn Daytona International Speedway
I checked the website and they offer $20.00 a night parking for infield campers. But looking at the map it doesn't seem very close by.

Silveradoss,
I've asked the same question, too, and got a similar response (might be somewhere on one of these forums). Hoping a little $$ or beer might work in our favour of convincing an attendent to let us leave. Got responses like can park at the garage at Daytona Beach and take a bus back and forth but I'm not too keen on that. We were hoping to go to New Symrna Speedway for some racing during the night as well.

The issue will be getting back in, if someone lets you leave. Would hate to see you and your car stuck on the outside not being able to get back in. I believe they will be going by the book this year so be evry careful, even when you walk out you HAVE to get a passout or YOU won't be let back in.

I'm sure the city of Daytona would like to know that ISC won't let me leave the track and spend money in their city.

I'm sure the city of Daytona is well aware of what ISC DIS and NASCAR does. I lived there for years. It is what it is and has always been. No one is saying you can't leave the track, you can, however if you aren't camped in Lake Lloyd you can't bring your car in and out.
