After the sides and awning are let out, we are at 20-21'. We will arrive early thursday, and basically Im just looking to see if anyone has any tips, advice, pointers. We got 3 buddies all in our low 30s and 1 fun dad coming. If anyone, is willing could you please give me the dummies guide to fun RV camping? Everyone is invited to stop by and say hi

Hi Welcome to the forum. Hang around and you will find tons of tips and advice.
We will be at Darlington this year also. We were there last year, had a blast. We camped at a private yard directly across from the track on Indian Branch road, (click link to see my Darlington pics), going back to the same place again. This year will be interesting because they repaved the track.

I am guessing it is dry camping.
Have everything you need with you before friday.,(fuel for generator, beer, etc.) Traffic will be horrible starting friday afternoon/evening. Its fun camping at a track.
I dont know about Pearson. Is it a reserved spot?, or first come first serve. If its not reserved the earlier you get there , the better.
We will get there on wednesday .
What day will you go down?

we are in Pearson row 8, sites 17&18. Im the official cook for us, so I am at least gonna try to do it right as far as the food goes. My buddies dad left him a condo on wheels, so we should be pretty self contained. Stop by, have a beer and some food, all are welcome. We will arrive in Darlington bout 1-2p on Thurs. Any tip on how the days play out. I dont think we are going to the Fri. race so things to do..see etc would be helpful

Wish I were going to Darlington, but just wanted to stop by and say "Hi". You'll have a blast - there's no "wrong" way to camp at a Nascar race! LOL Just make sure you take extra beer (if you drink it). We have a theory that the circular motion of the cars going around must do something to the air - beer evaporates VERY quickly ;)

Our philosophy is bring extra beer -- even if YOU DON'T drink it! Always important to be a good host :D
Welcome guys! Darlington is a great place. Last time we were there they had a good party down on the town square. I think it was Thursday evening. There were drivers, a band and generally a good time had by all.

There's no such thing as too much beer.
If there's room let in the bays, you could have brought more beer....
As this is my "first" @ Darlington, do I need to bring along the toad to get anywhere?
Or can I find my spot, park, open a beer and get ready for a wonderful weekend?

My recollection of Darlington is there's not much to it besides the track... There's a racing museum within an easy walk. And like I said, there was a party downtown on the square. That's probably too far to walk..
Personally, I prefer to pack up, find my spot and sit a spell...
You'll have a great time:mrgreen:

If you are in the Pearson campground and your tickets are in the Pearson Tower you are just 100 feet(give or take) to your seats. For many years I had the # 1 and 2 camp spot in Pearson. From my seats in Pearson Tower I could throw my empty beer cans into may campspot. When it rained I could be in my motorhome before I got wet. There is a "stopandrob" across the street from the campgrounds. Water and the honey wagon come around daily for a fee. We went early Mon -Tue - Wed and could drive over to Myrtle Beach (I think about 70 miles) and they have a Nascar Cafe there. On Thursday or Friday night we would drive over to the Darlington Short Track(20Miles away- ask anyone there) and one night some punk kid with a big hauler and a shinie new car was getting booed by all the "locals" and I couldn't figure out why until some on told me it Dale E's kid named Dale Jr and sister Kelly E were driving in the feature events. It was the first time I saw Jr. drive, didn't do bad by didn't win either. Anyway that's another story.

This will be my first time also on the infield, I am wondering if anyone here has explicit knowledge of the infield as it states 40 feet is the biggest unbit you can have in there.
I am wondering if a 42 footer will fit, what say you:confused:

This is going to be our first time camping, we went last year which is part of what led us to buying the camper...the 3 hour wait to get out of the parking lot after the rain delay....anyways, we're going to stay at the Church of God Prophecy lot since they have water and power there. Anyone else ever stayed there? I really can't wait and look foward to seeing everyone there.

Mr NascarCamping, I hope they let you in with that unit. Are you gonna have any flags with you? I'd like to purchase one to proudly fly over Darlington Raceway.
