I don't want to explode any batteries, or set my camper on fire. I am getting ready to start buying the stuff I need so I can get longer batter life out of the on boad. Batteries. I have been told that running two deep cycle 6v is better then running one 12v. Is this true? and if it is, do you have a diagram that you could post? so I can see where what wire goes to what battery where? I know black negagtive and red positive for automotive.
Thanks,
Eric

i have done some homework on this. Its ok to do and isnt that hard, your existing charger/converter will still work also. The key is buying/making a battery box to hold both batteries, making sure to vent it. And connect them in series. by connecting the positive terminal of the camper to the positive terminal of 1 6 volt battery, then a connection from the neg terminal of that battery to the positive terminal of 2nd battery, then the neg terminal of 2nd battery to neg connection to camper. Connecting them in series gives you 2x 6 volts.

and you want to make sure you buy DEEP CYCLE batteries, be careful, some buy marine batteries. That doesnt mean deep cycle.

yes two 6 volt batteries are better than a 12 volt battery and red is positive and black is negative in automotive apps but in the rv industry black is positive and white is negative
so now to hook up two 6 volt batts take the positive wire and hook it to the positive on one battery and the negative wire to the negative of the other battery now you will have one pos and one neg to hook up by using a jumper wire the same size as the wire coming out to the batteries very important if the wire is too small it will get hot so bigger here is better, just take the jumper wire and hook it to the two open posts one neg and one pos and now we have 12 volts going into the rv. if you want to hook up another set of 6 volts hook them up the same as above so now you have two 12 volt batteries from four 6 volts and just have to tie them together + to + and - to - and now you have one big 12 volt battery
if i find a good wiring diagram i will post it hope the explaination helps

Thats great. Just make sure all your batteries are identical and the same age (preferably new).

Sort of timely for this post since I am in need to replace my house batteries before heading to Daytona.
