One More Month

Well it's 1/17/08 in just 31 short days It will be 2/17/08 and many of you guys will be about to see the 50th running of the great american race. I hope this next month flies by and you all have the time of your lives. So let the countdown begin.

New house batteries purchased today. Coats are loaded (and hopefully won't see daylight when in Daytona). Libations will be purchased next weekend, then food for the next weekend. If you think I'm bad, you should see the organization skills of my buddy going with us - Patton would've been impressed!

Earplugs, and make sure you have them in your ears when you drive into the infield:)

Especially if they are out testing and you come in via the new turn 1 tunnel, you are very close to the track there and it is extremely loud:twisted:

We too started packing. We are glad that there are others as "Pattonized" as us. Now the question is ... what are we missing??? ;)

We just got back from the Atlantic city show. I told my wife this evening, that we have 2 weekends to get ready. We are heading south on Feb. 8th. Our fiver is always packed with everything we need except clothes. But I have to de-winterize, and I want to make extra sure we have everything. Also have to get temp roof platform ready..

but kitchen supplies, dry food in cabinets, all bathroom toiletries, sheets, blankets, grill, chairs, everything we need stays in the fiver all season. I do this because, If I didnt, I WOULD forget something.. :mrgreen:

That's exactly what we do. It is much easier to have a set of everything, including clothes, ready to go. :cool:

I too have been out picking up odds and ends now. Actually have every thing in a spare rooms, all lists made and everything gets checked off as it goes in the RV. Think I'm sitting pretty well, but am sure somethingmight be forgotten, but hard to believe that with everything I've got so far!! Heck Targets across the street so what the heck,

Ron 48, gotcha. We do the same, like many on this forum, leave all sheets, pillows, towels, utensils on the rig. Good thing I didn't put the libations on the rig yesterday (they would've froze for sure)!

Buddlite, like you, items already for going on the rig stashed in the spare room.

" SUPER" Target across the street, when you enter the parking lot just smile and tell them you are shopping at Target, they might watch you enter the store and want to see your receipt when you exit.

Security is posted at almost every parking lot.

Alrighty then, just 14 short days till we leave for Daytona. I have now offically started the count down clock. I am going to get all the maintainance done this weekend on the motorhome. We can hardly believe it almost time to roll. Bought new memory cards for the camera. I have a personal goal of 1000 pictures at the speedway. I don't want to miss anything. The motorhome comes to the front yard tomorrow to start the loading preperations. we will be on the road to Daytona a week from today !!!!!!!!! I wish I could commit to the some of the meetings and events but really don't have the time line from Camper World for when we will be at the track. I've gained huge knowledge from this site and will be much better prepared for our next trip to This race . I really like the direction you all are headed with this site and hope to be a part of it for years to come. If we get the chance to meet this trip it will be great. As has been stated TRAVEL SAFE !!!!!!!!!!! Hope to see you all in FL.

We are heading out from Waco, TX on Sun , Feb 10, should be there Monday pm. Not a bad little trip except for some of the crappy road conditions of I-10 thru LA!!

We are leaving Atlanta Friday the 8th after work and stopping for the night in Valdosta. Picking Dad up at the airport in Jacksonville the morning of Saturday the 9th, and rolling into Daytona around 1:30. Then it's time to go racing!

What kind of cluster is entrance to the infield on Tuesday. Turn 1 tunnel entrance. Is there a lineup and strip search area. Arethe bomb squad and the sphincter cops on the job. Do we just drive in..HA HA Should we bring sandwiches????? What sort of a delay is it if we get there about 1-3pm. My wife always has to have something to worry about..
