Any suggestions, warnings or advice for camping outside Talladega. We are staying in the Legends Lane area April 27-29. Thanks!

Don't bring the cheap beads! Get the best you can find!!! Use a Sharpie and write an "8" on anypart of the beads. It's like hunt in a baited field.

PattmanJ, we didn't camp in Dega, but we did come in contact with a Security officer. Our van was told parked in a Legal parking space. They will try anything to make extra money. Anyway, Back to the Security Guard. We had them to take us were our Van was but before we could get into there SUV they had to move some Guns out of the back set. Just Let me tell you that they were will Armed!!!

Make sure you bring everything with you, this is not like Daytona where you can walk across the street to Volusia Mall.

Stock up on all your essential items that you may need before heading out.

Also if you are heading via the Interstate be aware of traffic back-ups before the track, the local law did an incredibly poor job of traffic management at last years spring race, at one point we had a 2 mile back-up on the Interstate :evil:

Make sure you go to the meseum, while there say Hhi to Betty in the library for me.

Yes, take what you need. We never try to go anywhere in a car after Friday night. In the Ledgens area you will be fine. The smoke may be a little heavy as everyone has a campfire no matter how hot it is. We are in the Winner Walk 1 next to the grandstands. Love that spot.

Ditto the smoke, last year we where up on allison avenue, looking down into the infield is like our downtown on a hot,hazy inversion type day.

Anyone camping in the Winners Walk 1 campground close to turn one. Hope to see some of you there. We should be in our spot Thursday night.

We'll be in Talladega RV Park...we live 1 hr away. We'll be there Thursday (t'storms). Hope the weather will be as nice as this weekend...sunny, high 80 degrees!

HAVE A SAFE TRIP and a GREAT time!

Make sure you take some pictures guys, sadly we will not be there this year :?
