Any of you veterans have any experience with places to eat near Daytona Beach that would suitable for me treating my wife to?

There is a Ruby Tuesdays right at Bill France and International which is at the turn 4 tunnle, I liked it there, and surprisingly there was no lines which is always good.
There is also a Olive Garden across the street, which is always yummy, I love their salad:)
There is also an Outbacks across the street mate :)
For a valentines day dinner those are my choices:D

Good ideas thanks. In case I want to go into Daytona Beach is it hard to find a cab? If its not tough where would I pick one up? Front gate? We are camping in West Lot.

If you call a cab, the gate security at the west lot should let them in, they are there more or less to direct traffic, they really dont check passes so much here. Its the gate at turn 1 where you have to have a pass, so you or the cab should be okay for them to come in and pick you up.
A 1 A Taxi Service is located at the airport they should be able to come to get you. 386 252-9999

Hey I'm in the west lot also. Hope to see ya sometime. Depending on what you want to spend... there is a very nice place called the Chart House on Marina Point Dr, just off Beach. You'll need to take a cab from the track (and a credit card with room depending on what and how much you drink probably 50-60 bucks per person at least) but is is a beautiful place sits right on the Halifax river and has great food. However you probably wouldn't get in with shorts and a T-shirt :)

Thanks Budlight. I actually have reservations at the Chart house but I wasn't sure if it was going to be worth cleaning up with dress clothes for it. Being Valentines Day and the wife going to the 500 with me it is a cheap thank you.

Its worth it. I have always enjoyed it. Plus being Race week you never know who might be there........ Depending on where you are in the West Lot it might be easier if you meet the cab at maybe the cracker barrell (sits right on 92 speedway blvd right next to the dog track right next to west lot lower numbers) cabs aren't going to want to try to find your rv inside the west lot. so meeting them outside of it somewhere is always best. Depending on when you get into town you should be able to pick out an easy spot to meet them. What time is your reservation on the 14th, traffic will be tied up around the speedway most likely till at least 6 since its Duals Day

Not necessarily an answer to your question .. but we will celebrate Valentine's Day by eating filets around the fire, accompanied by a bottle of 2006 vintage '2 buck chuck'. This will be follwed by a dessert of s'mores flambé and finished off by a shot or three of Jack.
:-)

P.S. Luckily, the significant other is as much or more excited about heading to Daytona next Friday as I am, and definitely does not mind being there for Valentine's Day!

After 19 years it's long PJ's and a good nights sleep. We left Lacey about 10 years ago. Also she is not a big flower person. She prefers paper. Like green paper with dead peoples picture on them if you know what I mean.....
