Wow that is a project for sure, I could see the water on the wood it was so wet.
Another one of our members 69Novass I think, Mike is his name he is Indiana had the same project that you did.
Makes me think maybe we should make a guide up for others to follow...?
Hmmmm that might be a good idea, a walk through of what to expect with a class c a or b project......
Thanks for sharing those pictures with us!!!

The first sign of water is the first indication of big problems! LOL!
I wish I had the funds to have a newer rig but alas......
You all have great looking rigs/campers...Mine is getting there and it will be a Nascar themed ride by the time I'm done with her...
and as for the guide...I'm in for a pound!! Let's do it!

Here where I started in 1990 with my 2 sons Bryan and Mikey. We got to Talladega on Wed afternoon and from the picture you can see we were almost the only ones there. In the background you can see the old grandstands before the towers were installed. We camp in almost the same spot 13 years later. Our 2005 Bounder with all the extras.

Quick question about the 2 campers above. How much easier is it to cool the hybrid over a standard pop up? We were at Bristol last August and the pop up we rented at times seemed very hard to cool. We are looking into getting a camper and was considering a hybrid for its lighter weight. Any insight would be great. :D
Nascarcamping
02-07-2008, 02:15 PM
Oh yeah, any trailer will be way easier than a pop up because it has insulation, the pop ups lose it all through the netting etc....
I have seen one guy cut a hole in his pop up and put a window 5,000 btu unit in very ingenious!!!!
JimmieJohnson
02-07-2008, 02:19 PM
Plus I figured the sun beating down on all that canvus would fight the a/c as well. So that poor pop up a/c last year was just a buzzing and it was still a little on the warm side at times.

Jimmy Johnson, we did not have air conditioning in our popup, It was a camper that you only just slept in, with that said at night was never bad.
I have to admit I do not even have air conditioning in my house..no not even a window unit.
Never had it growing up, and still don't have it. I think it keeps too many people inside.
The AC works very well in the Jayco. Last year I purchased sportsman's blankets from Cabela's. I put the reflective side up when it's very hot out. We go to a music festival (Bonnaroo) every year where it is 90-95 + degrees outside. The covers help tremendously.

Yea, they got our twirly gig thingy and the camper behind us bicycle.....he later found it by the outhouses. Guess the criminal had to make a quick getaway to the john!!! Jenny had said something in an earlier post that someone got her flags last year in the fall race...right off the flag pole!!!! Guess if I make it to the fall race I will start locking everything down.

Ok...what JJ didn't caption, was this is what we just bought. Its a Flagstaff Shamrock 23SS. We barely had it in the driveway for a day or two when we received a letter from our Home Owners Association that we were in violation of the covenants. (We have some moronic neighbors that take pleasure in making everybody's life miserable by reporting EVERYTHING in the neighborhood, except that is when they are breaking covenants). So we just moved it out to a seasonal campsite so we can go camp every weekend :) At least we will get lots of use out of it now.

i'm with you chief!
my SIL has an hoa! he is in the marines and just recently moved to san antonio! he was getting letters everyday telling him what he could and could not do at his own home. he fought and fought and fought! then finally realized he could not win so just gave up on them! but he was really pissy for a while over the trash can thing!!
we sometimes pick the dumpest thing to fight about!

They are just jealous. Thats the only reason they were quick to send a letter. I bet if the person that reported it had a Rv, it would be a different story

I was able to dress it up a bit more at the Chicagoland Race a two weeks ago since we were in the grass...

2 hours to set up, and 5 minutes to take most of it down when this rolled in...

Try photobucket, flickr or google free image storage. I use photobucket because it is free. Once you upload it it will have several ways to link to the picture here. Usually you just copy the URL and there is a "insert image" button on the message bar that will allow you to paste your copied URL into. Then when you click submit reply we should be able to see it.
