well, I give up...after 16mins of "redial" both lines are saying they are "disconnected"! We must have overloaded their circuits!
Also, I haven't been able to get on the Atlanta Motor Speedway site all morning. Good thing I wrote the numbers down last night!

Well with both of us calling both numbers for over an hour with not a single ring, we give up. Kind of sad that probably ticket brokers ended up with most of these instead of honest fans. I hope some of you guys had better luck. :-(

Ya if you run by there let us know that they are sold out. Since no one can even get though to find that information out.

Just saw areport that all the ticket brokers camped out as soon as the track made the announcment of the ticket deal and the brokers gobbled the up and put up for sale for more than the real value face . thats why no one got thru.

Ryan Newman's Daytona 500 Win Nets Race Fans $12 Ticket at Atlanta Motor Speedway 1,000 Tickets Sold in Six Minutes
Monday, February 18 2008
Normally quiet on an early Monday morning, Atlanta Motor Speedway was a flurry of activity as more than 300 race fans stood in line for their shot at $12 frontstretch tickets to the March 9 Kobalt Tools 500.
AMS' most recent promotion, Real Racing. Real Fast. Roulette allowed fans the opportunity to purchase tickets to the upcoming Sprint Cup event for the price of the winning car number of the Daytona 500. The AMS ticket office, as well as Ticketmaster, sold the allotment of 1,000 tickets in six minutes. The promotion continues through 5 p.m. tomorrow as the speedway offers a $10 discount on all frontstretch reserved tickets for the Kobalt Tools 500.
The promotion drew fans from across the state of Georgia, some of whom camped out overnight in front of the ticket office to increase their odds of receiving one of the coveted tickets. A group of students from Peachtree City, Ga.'s Starr's Mill High School pitched tents at 1 a.m. on speedway property, after they saw who emerged as the victor in the Daytona 500.
"We had our minds made up," said Randy Beadling, one of the campers. "If No. 24 (Jeff Gordon) or anyone with a lower number won, we were going to come here and try and get the tickets. Gordon was our cut-off. When the No. 07 (Clint Bowyer) and the No. 1 (Martin Truex Jr.) had trouble, they about gave us a heart attack."
"This promotion has been a huge success and a lot of fun," said AMS president and general manager Ed Clark. "We congratulate Ryan Newman and the Penske Racing team on their Daytona 500 win which also made winners out of 1,000 fans who will attend the Kobalt Tools 500."
Fans can still take advantage of discounted tickets by calling the AMS ticket office at 877-9-AMS-TIX, (877-926-7849), or 770-946-4211 or by visiting www.atlantamotorspeedway.com.

They needed to have half the tickets available over the phone only and no brokers, imo this only proves that ams was only about making headlines not about offering racing to people who might not normally be able to afford it

When I went by there yesterday, the crowd was crazy, and most were mad that there were none left. Still...My hopes are not shattered.
