Yup, just heard this, this would make a new DEI of 5 cars, this could also be what DEI would need to remain viable without Junior........

Can they do that though with the number of cars an owner is allowed to have?? Lawdie this soap opera just gets more and more twisted...they should have a draft...just like the NFL...shake it up each year (needs to put away the crack pipe)

I think this could change the entire Dale Jr contract story, this could be interesting.

This obviously would have been initiated by teresa right?
you would think this would then mean, " hey junior, if you go, we still have a team.."
brilliant if you are theresa
will listen to the airwaves tommorow, if anyone learns anything please pipe in.

From what I understood, Jr. wanted to buy 51% and there was talk IF he had enough $$ to do that...NOW if the price tag goes up, it could make it impossible for that to happen. I understand she is probably doing this from a business angle...but HOW good will it be for DEI if Jr leaves?? She may be trying to reinforce her wicked step momma nomination...

I read about the purchase price (for Jr) and it sounded as if he was surprised. I'm thinking all along that he wants it, but doesn't want to purchase it. Heck, it was his dads company, should his step mom make millions from her step mom?
But you are right, it puts him in a tougher spot. DEI could probably make a go of it if they pull in Yates racing. If Jr goes I bet he takes Tony & Tony Jr with him.
Anyone think Jr might start his own cup team????

See that is what I thought...I thought he WANTED 51 percent ownership, then I finally heard that he wanted to BUY 51 percent of it...THAT shocked me! I think it would be incredible IF he had the majority ownership, could make the whole organization gel again.
If he can't...I would not mind seeing him start his own team...or everyone's wish, go race for Childress and bring back the #3. I just think if he leaves it will start the slow death of DEI and kill Dale Sr.'s lifes work...then of course the price would go down and then there could be a revitalization project...hmmmmmmmm
