Jeff Gordon Breaks Dale Earnhardts Record

Dale Earnhardt would have been 56 today.

1 year ago this weekend my girls and I where paying respect to him at Talladega by viewing the special museum display that was set up at Talladega for him.

The crowd also paid tribute to him as it was an "official" salute to him at this race also.

There was also a black tie event that weekend for him.

Last weekend Jeff Gordon paid tribute to him as a proper Gentlemen would when he tied his record by flying the number 3 flag in his car on his victory lap at Phoenix.

So, how fitting and incredibly ironic that today Jeff Gordon would break Dale Earnhardts record.....on his birthday.....

" I got no friends out here", a famous line that Gordon has used in the past where not uttered today, as he won under caution.

But, a great day was again ruined by some classless fans whom started to throw bottles on the track and even toilet paper( at least someone listened to jr, as he asked them to throw toilet paper rather than bottles and other drinks).

So I started to think why is this being done, and is this strictly a " nascar" problem?

While I was thinking about this I was watching Hockey Night in Canada, it is the playoff game Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs Vancouver, being played in Vancouver.

The fans are singing the National Anthems, and the Canadians are even singing along with the American Anthem, wow this is class, these are great fans I am thinking....well they are Canadians right?...they would never throw things on the ice would they?

Hmmmmmm.....yes I do remember some things being thrown on the ice in the past.....was that in Canada though.....?


Lets look at Baseball, remember that time when the fans all threw the balls that they where given at the gate onto the field? A brilliant marketing idea turned into a rather stupid and embarrassing moment, where was that game played?

Soccer?, heck lets not go there, over in Europe they burn stands, people killed, yikes, it makes a few beers thrown on the track look like a tea party!

But, what can we do about this problem?

Well, some today mentioned a total ban on coolers ,bottles, and even a ban on selling beer after a certain time.

Maybe Jeff Gordon should just stop winning races.

How would I explain that one to my daughter....

No More Coolers in the race....
No More drinking anything in the stands....
No More Smoking inside the gates of the stadum.... (where did this come from) Ok, back on track....
OMG, you know how many people would stop going to a race. OMG $5. for a Coke and $10.00 for a beer. lol
what about when you purchase a ticket for a race The Race track has your info they could band and fined anyone that they see on there cameras. Then if they can prove that you sold your ticket on ebay or someplace then that person would also be banned and fined.

Ok, I know ....... NO MORE GOING TO A TRACK TO WATCH JEFF GORDON WIN A RACE. (what did I just say) lol

Ok, I know that this well never happen. But, if Nascar can tell Tony the Tiger what he can say on his Radio Show. What is Next.

It is that easy. Dale Jr even tryed to tell all his fans and anyone else that would lesson "IT IS STUPED, DRINK YOUR BEER AND STOP THROWING IT AT JEFF GORDON" or You can bring it to him after the race and he will drink it. LOL

NASCAR fines drivers and teams for screwing up, and it is a HUGE penalty for the rest of us law abiding citizens to pay for the ignorance and stupidity of others. 5.00 for a drink or more for a beer at a race would be enough to ruin attending for me. I take pride in my fully stocked cooler that enables me to not spend a dime inside the track!!

Seriously what statement do these fans think they are sending?? Does it change the outcome of the race? No, it ultimately only will change the things that affect the rest of the fans.

I am a Jr. fan as well, I admit I respect Jeff Gordon as a driver, he does have four championships behind him and now has passed Dale Sr. in wins. I am one of the "boo birds" in the stands on race morning...but as far as pelting drivers, and possibly other fans, THAT would never happen. Hey Melissa, I see you are using some new Smileys. Did you get them from the Smileypad? You can also add your on pictures to the smileypad. But, first make sure that you upload them into your photobucket just incase the person that you barrowed it from decides that they dont like it anymore. I do alot of searching around in photobucket finding different stuff I add it to my photobucket then I go to my smileypad. Click on Edit, make new Folder if I wont to put it into someplace else for faster grabbing. click on add smiley manully. Then I barrow it from photobucket to put into smileypad for faster pit stops. I have over 2000 smileys/pictures in my smileypad. I just Love my SmileyPad.
