Hey all, myself and a few buddies have made the trip to the glen in 04 and 05 and last year we went to Michigan. We are pretty young so i am trying to start a tradition here for all of us.
On to the question.... We always camp at gate 1 unreserved and in 04 we could walk to the infield freely at night however in 05 the gate was locked and there were cops EVERYWHERE! It seems like they were breaking up all the roving groups of people drinking and keeping us restricted to just gate 1 area. It seemed as if there was a huge push by the cops to shut down all the fun that we saw back in 04. I was wondering what happened to cause this and was it locked down last year like in 05? We are just looking to party and have a good time and walk around and it seems like the LAW is stepping up and shutting it all down. The reason we went to Michigan last year because we were sick of the cops at the glen. In Michigan there were few cops and the ones that we did see didn't try to interfere.
Lol i know this was long-winded but i wanted to vent.... My Nascar track experience is defined 90 percent by the partying and socializing and 10 percent the racing. Also if anyone could tell me where the real night partying happens if not at gate 1 then where?
