Funny THAT is what me and the Mr. were talking about last night...THAT was some of the most exciting racing I had seen...hang it all out!!

Just saw the Final Practice speeds for Daytona race...can YOU belive it...Robby is at the top of the charts!!! :shock:

I just hope he has not used it all up in practice and the motor lets go in the race...I am starting to see a trend here...I think they finally have something going finally...

Let's see where he qualifies tomorrow...but more importantly...where he finishes on Saturday...Daytona is a survival race. Just hope he has the immunity idol on board with him!!! :wink:

Okay...I know I am not the only one that wonders this, and this will certainly spark a debate...BUT...

WHY is it you see ONE shoe laying on the side of roads. I had previously thought it was because passengers ride around with their foot out the window, but they are not always right shoes...and wouldn't they stop the car and go back to get the "lost" shoe. This baffles me...

As does the warning I saw in a magazine today. It was for Ambien CR (if you are not aware it is a contolled release sleep medication). What floored me was the "side effect". MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS. Ummmm how can the DESIRED effect be a SIDE effect??

I am hauling out the soap box after this race. ABC/ESPN coverage is terrible at best. Do they NOT believe in showing restarts? Any of the other networks, at least make an attempt to be back on the air before the green flag flies. I really could give a flying monkey if I got to see the cars go around during the pace laps...but the restarts, HAVE to be shown.

Rusty Wallace is a great race car driver. But he lacks personality in the booth. The whole crew does for that matter. I realize they are all "legends" in the sport...but for me it torture to listen to them speak (or attempt to...). I can not wait to be AT the race and her the MRN guys.

I am a Jr. fan, and to be honest I am relieved he is not in the chase. His season has not been at a championship level. He needs to concentrate on the last ten races....make a good showing and then wash his hands of the 8, bud and DEI. I still find it humorous why all the hooooplah about him changing numbers, sponsor...etc...Hasn't the majority of drivers who have changed teams have to do the same? My ONLY concern with it (having the #8 car in the garage) is WHO is going to be in the 8. I was relieved to see it would not be Kyle Busch...one bullett dodge...I am going to keep my car and will continue to root for Jr. what ever he drives. Because I think THAT is what matters....it's about the driver, not the number, or the sponsor.

I am rambling....I wish they would have saved some of Benny Parson's DNA so that we could still have him on race day.

HELL, I would be willing to take theheat to work in the booth for one race. Least you might here something like what we all yell in our living rooms....hahahah

This year it has REALLY been worth the price for Nascar's Raceview. We don't really listen to the race commentary on TV, and we definitely wouldn't be able to keep up with what's going on with our drivers (seeing as they aren't "popular") if we didn't have it.

If you have some extra $$$'s, and especially if you have a computer or laptop where you can watch on TV and have your computer right beside you, I'd highly recommend it. I think we paid about $70 for the year. You can listen to the MRN broadcast, ANY driver scanner, not just selected few and watch the race via telemetry - so you can actually see who your driver is battling on the track regardless of who the broadcasters are favoring.

The TV coverage last night was AWFUL :x We also commented on the fact that they missed every restart :roll:

I am just completely fed up with the ABC/ESPN coverage... The other thing that drives me crazy is the camera angles, or the way they sweep away from what they are showing, it makes you think there is a wreck or something bad happening...Then you realize the only thing BAD happening is the camera crew... :?

I WAS delighted that they chose not to go to commercial the last 30+ laps. But by then I was so aggrivated by the mess that hardly mattered.

OH and Jimmie...you will be happy to know I won the office pot by picking Jimmie Johnson this week. I had not won all year long...(miserable)...so I picked and "routed" for Jimmie Johnson this whole week at work. I think people thought I had a fever as those are not words I usually utter...but when the pot is big enough (have not had a winner in four weeks) I will route for whomever...hahaha... :wink:

Cool - welcome to the world of tuning out the TV commentary! The audio is definitely a little behind, but now I come to think about it the telemetry is actually ahead of the TV - we always see the caution come out before they show it on TV?

I agree with you on the family tradition aspect of this situation...and I agree that Teresa does not appreciate nor respects this legacy of the Earnhardt family. She is not of the Earnhardt blood, nor will she ever be. She is only hurting herself...and the integrity of the company and the numbers she is selfishly keeping.

I think it will cause a stink the first of next season, but after a few races the REAL fans will make the transition without a problem. It is going to be a handful of people who will continue to make it an issue and will probably be the ones to "jump ship" to another driver. Jr. has become his own man...he drove the first several years after his father's death in his shadow. Now, he is the most popular driver and has won races on all types of tracks. Whatever number he is behind the wheel of next year, certainly will become him...and will be as sacred to his legacy.

I can't wait to see how it all shakes out...gotta love the drama.

The 8 has been in the Earnhardts stable for along time and should stay there. Mark Martin will be a Awesome Driver in the 8 car. They need to find a second driver for it but that is my 2 cents. The Hendricks wonts to keep the 5 in there stable that is why they are swapping number with Jr and Mears.

The "Earnhardt stable" will be losing alot of good personal with Jr's change. From what I understand his crew cheif is walking with him (which I'm glad to hear!!!).

I'm getting a little bored of the " The Bold & the Earnhardts" soap opera myself. The kid didn't make!!! Maybe next year.....move on to some of the other drivers. Like Tony and Gibbs!!! Toyota......what where they thinking!!!! I (seriously) think this is a bold move for Gibbs racing. I don't expect much from them next year but in the future I have a feeling they will be something to be reckoned with. Alot of good driver to go along with a manufacturer that has done very well in all the other racing leagues.

I had one of those ephiphany moments yesterday, that I feel I need to share with everyone...

Yesterday was "80's" day at my daughter's high school. So, being a product OF the 80's...I gave her this jacket I made (sequins, fringe, you name it...) Motley Crue Shirt (1985 Theatre of Pain...yeah and I had back stage passes) and knee high black boots.

Anyway...as I dropping my daughter off at school, I am looking at the other kids, no one is as 80's dressed as my child. I look at her in horror and ask her again...are you SURE it is 80's day?? She assures me it is. Then she gets out of the car, and I am almost embaressed for her, I am thinking to myself "I can not believe she is going out in public dressed like that"...THEN it hit me. Good lord...Those are MY old clothes. I had worn that same outfit 20+ years ago. Then it hit me...I OWE my parents a big apology for that "phase".... :lol:

Okay...had to share this with everyone. Shirley, you asked "What I would do next..." well...here is my latest adventure...

Two years ago, here in Wichita Falls, they had a contest to name the new interchange here in town. So, I submit my entry...don't think anything...and a month or so later got an email from the D.O.T. telling me I won. (to be honest...I could not even remember what I submitted at the time). Had to do a press conference and newspaper...blah blah blah...to unveil the name choosen.

Well today was the GRAND OPENING of the "Falls Flyover". So I got to attend the ceremony, and was interviewed by the TV station again. It was nice...but I am a camera shy person. (As long as there is NOT a camera around...I am not shy, ask Shirley, NorthShore...etc) Anyway...It was a big day for the bigolepig!!

NOW if I could only figure out how to post my signature pictures up on this thingy...And what the HECK does it mean "Senior Member"...does that give us some A.A.R.P. membership...

Well Campsites went on sale for Texas Motorspeedway yesterday...I was sad I could not get my "prime" spot on Harmonson road...or anything remotely close (I goofed up and waited until 10:30am to call...BIG mistake!!)

Anyway...long story short...we sucked it up and bought season camping in the victory circle campground...will be residents of spot U-56!! Guess we can people watch as people come and go now from the track...and hoof it up to Harmonson Road to give out beads and be on the look out for franks and beans! ;)

The pics of the girls behinds reminds me of what happened in the lunch room the other day.

Old Friends, I went to a Funeral of a Old Friends father that passed away. And she didn't even know who I was. Her sister, who I used to go to church with had to introduced me. It was like "Rosemary, this is Shirley". But, I haven't seen her in 30 years.

Here is something I ran across today. I don't know if anyone else is getting these calls...but I get calls on ALL of my phones (kids included) at work and at home from a 702-520-1465 telling me I can extend my warranty on my car...or today it was an urgent second notice. I listened to the whole message the other day...and hit "one" to be connected to a live idiot. The only thing they say when they answer is "YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE"...so I said "How 'bout you take me off your call list". He promptly hung up. So I called the number back and got the number is not available recording. FRUSTRATING!!

So, I discussed this with my coworkers...and they too are getting these calls. That in turn inspired me to google that number and I found this website.

Yes, I was getting alot of them. I would just turn the table on them asking them. Asking question like Who, What, When & Where then asking them for there name. If they already told me I would ask again. Then I would tell them that I am on the DNC list and they will be turned in. But, usually before I finish they hang up.

Yep, those are SCAM's. Has anyone here every had there Identity Stolen? I have but, not from a caller from our very own TXU light Company in Waco, Tx. I got a letter in the mail saying that they had a warrant for my arrest. :shock: After a trip to the bank, then to the Sheriff's Office. We got that warrant token care of. Then I found out that there was about 100 more hot checks in the state of Texas. After several phone calls and Faxes we got it all straighten out. That reminds me it is time for another credit check.

Well...it all went...WELL. No snakes...just had an Armadillo make a pass through our campsite the first night. Didn't seem to be too worried about us, but I about flipped. I have only ever seen them on the side of the road dead, or on the side of the road dead with a beer bottle. (Only in Texas).

I am a little bit sunburnt...and tired. But it was a great trip. PLUS we made it home with all four tires AND a spare!! :mrgreen:

All I can say is Water and Electric hook up camping makes up for the lack of race cars and rednecks. ;)

Correct me if I am wrong M. but that looks to me like spam and looking at the "CGI" in the web address, and a "'dll" it could be some kind of bug or spywre.

I would attache a copy and send it to the abuse people at ebay, and then delet it straight away and then runa virus scan...

I just usually hit the delete key on those...as they are not being sent through eBay...and they will just send you an automated response with what to look for on the authentic eBay messages.

1) It will say at the top EBAY SENT THIS MESSAGE TO (YOUR FULL NAME WILL APPEAR) and then your screen name.
A scammer won't have access to both, unless they have previously been involved in a legal transaction with you.

2) The CGI on the message system addresses is legal from what I can see. I just looked at two messages (One of which I sent and got a CC on) and that is the way they have them. Which to me throws up redflags...but usually the scan "redirect" pages will be a mess load of numbers as the website address they are taking you. I would be willing to bet that "CGI" website address if you clicked on it will redirect you to something that is somelike that.
