What do you guys think, is there still time to raise enough money to make it worth while for me to sign up? I will probably be working the walk if I don't sign up as a walker any way. Let me know what the general concensus is, and we'll make a decision tomorrow! I really would like to do it to help raise more money for MRO through Matt or Darryl's walk. And I know that they need TONS of help too. I will be there with my wife and two sons, perhaps helping MRO out in any way possible at the track too.
Also will sign up for the July Louden race as soon as it opens too, if we want to have our presence known at that one too!
I'll do whatever y'all want me to!

I believe that someone has to sign up as Track Caption before we can get a walk page. Right Melissa?

Yes, someone has to sign up for that walk as a "track captain" and then give us the link to goto for the individuals page to make the donations. I think you do have to sign up to walk before you can make the "team page"... If you need help setting it up give me a PM and I will happily do what I can.
Count me in...let's rally the campers!!

I'm in too - just give me the link. You may not have time to raise as much as the Texas walk, but if you want to do the walk anyway - then sign up and get as much as you can! ;)

Sorry that I didn't get back on to take care of this earlier in the week. I am still trying to get things back on track here at home after my 2 weeks on the road with MRO, and still beating a few things around on the phone and whatnot for that too.
I have decided that it wouldn't be fair to try and pull together a good enough effort on my behalf to do the Dover track walk. HOWEVER, I am going to talk to Misty and see what my family and I can do to help out as volunteers at the trackwalk in Dover and make myself of use in that manner, so all is not lost.
ALSO, I registered for Louden's Trackwalk and started a Foundation under NascarCamping.com, and am going to try to set a new record with the Foundation for the most amount raised for a single trackwalk event (if it's not a gazillion dollars anyway, so basically if it's possible:)), while tapping a few other sites, and organizations that I belong to and see what kind of response I can get there too so we can build up our donation even bigger, and perhaps grab a few more members for here from that drive too! I plan on calling the Foundation today and seeing what else I can do at/for the Louden deal, so we can get the donations rolling in ASAP! I would appreciate all the help I can get with this, I know how well the Texas walk went off, and how much attention this site got from that, and I hope we can pull it off again and set a new bar, so we can try to out perform ourselves again at the next one and then the next, and next, and etc.
Whadday'all (yup redneck) think? Melissa I will probably need some help setting up the donation page, and I know you are familier with that application and part of the deal, if you don't mind! Anyone got any comments, tips, wants, needs, etc.??? I appreciate all feedback!
I am going to set it up so that it goes through either Darryl or Matt's deal too so that MRO will get a hefty chunk of the amount raised as well if everyone doesn't mind.

I don't mind helping at all!! I think UPSJED was talking about setting up a page also...so if you two could get together and combine efforts...don't need ya'll battling each other. If you hit any snags, let me know. I will get a batch of magnets out to you also that you can hand out if you would like. :)

If you want to send me some of what ever handouts you've got, I am sure I can incorporate them with the other literature and things I will try to have with me at all the races I'm attending. I am looking at perhaps putting out a table like MRO had at their Ambassador sites at Talladega, with track information, driver hero cards, schedules, Focus on the Family stuff, etc., and would be glad to add the stuff for this site! We may set something like that up at New Hampshire too.
Just got off the phone with Misty, and the fact of the matter with all aspects of the Track Walk events through The NASCAR Foundation, is that all monies are distributed evenly! So it does not matter whether you sign up under MRO, Jimmie Johnson Foundation, Truex Jr. Foundation, or whoever, they take all the money and pool it up, and divide it amongst all the charities evenly. Which is what I would have thought to be the best way to handle it, but we all know how great a job of messing things up by human nature! That's how it was presented to many of us though by a couple of people at Talladega, so there is some misconceptions out there in NASCAR land too! :)
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Let's pull this thing off with a bang. I am headed to try and figure out the website donation deal, so I can share it with a couple other sites I belong to, one of which has 48,000 adrenaline junkies that ride snowmobiles and many of which are NASCAR fans, so cross your fingers and we'll see what happens!
Melissa if you have any tips on setting things up, I welcome your input!
Thanks all,
John
