I finally broke down last year and started paying for the year long Racing Electronics subscription. Not a horrible deal, $10 for the year and all major series are included. I'm not sure what they go for at the track, used to be somewhere in the $5 range.

Still $5 for them at the track. It's really the best way to make sure you have the most up to date.

If I remember correctly isn't the Racing Electronics subscription a sort of "family plan?" It seems like they had a plan with unlimited programming for like $15 a year. I'm hoping so as we have 3 scanners to program at Daytona. Worth it for the timesavings alone!

Not sure about that part, we have don't have the fancy programmable scanners .. we do it the old fashioned way. :) The $10 deal gives us access to the updated lists (.pdf's) every week that I download before heading for the races.

I got one of these for Christmas this year. Waiting to try it out at Milwaukee in a few weeks. Wireless programming. Just have to be within range of the Track-Scan booth and it automatically programs the frequencies for the specific race. Buddy of mine has it and worked great!
