i bet he secedes from DEI and drives for JR motorsports like they hinted. Using Hendrick motors would also be fantastic. Hopefully he can pull Budwieser, Truex and Tony Jr. with him!!!!
Also if he has to change his number watch for him to try to attain the number 3 for 2008.

Yes...I think the development of JR motorsports is the RIGHT thing to do...Let Teresa waller in the ashes of the company Dale Sr. worked so hard to build, and was success for the first few years after his death...it has been in stead decline and turmoil. She will be the one with egg on her face and left holding a worthless hand...
Seriously, once the namesake is gone...the legacy will continue with Jr. and his sister...not with Teresa...do you suppose Taylor Nicole wants to be a race car driver?? ha!!

I think that if Jr. goes then everyone in DEI will go with him. They will have more to gain to follow Jr then staying with DEI. I have been wondering why Teresa Hired Kerry and his son at DEI?

I'm sure that Sr. would actually have that famous "smirk" on his face for all of this - isn't this EXACTLY what he would have done :?: :?: :?: "Family" isn't the issue - results is the issue.
I really do like Jr. and I think he's a great guy - on a totally personal note - it's 50% of his fans that I have the problem with. It will be interesting to say the least to see where the "sheeple" end up tomorrow.
Note: For those that haven't had the benefit of Jenny's post-Bud Light interviews at TMS :D - Sheeple are peole that follow the #8 because they don't have a clue about racing, didn't follow a race pre-Feb 2001, but like Jr. because he's Sr's son, and bcz he drive's the #8 Chevy and everyone loves him.
I await my punishment! :D    :o :D :) :o :D

Seriously, I think this is a good thing for the sport...now I can have TWO owner/drivers...one will just be a little better funded!
Teresa may think she holds the cards...but if your hand don't amount to nothing she is going to have to fold or get beat eventually...
(in my best forest gump voice) "And that's all I got to say about tha't"

Sheeple sums it up :?
I don't put 50% of the fans in that category... so you my friend can sit firmly on the pre-sheeple side...........but we ALL know who they are  :D  8) :D

Dont know though about the numbers issue, as Nascar owns the rights to the cars numbers and not the drivers.
BUT, there was mention something about RCR doing a release next year and JR driving a black number 3 car, man imagine if they did that at Talladega?
It would be something :D
The numbers thing, if anyone knows the exact story please pipe in :o

Yeah...I know the type...they are the reason I usually wear my Robby Gordon stuff to the race...I don't want to be one of the legion. Sounds funny huh??? To me I would rather be one of few than one of the flock. But I do jump up and when Jr. starts hauling butt toward the front!! I drive my #8 car with pride...looks like after tomorrow it may be more of a collectors item...chaaaaching!!!
Bandwagon fans drive me nutso...almost as bad as the Busch Brothers. I will have to hold my tongue :P when we get one of those fans on here...The thing that drives me the craziest...you can tell "true" Nascar fans, THEY WAIT UNTIL THE RACE IS OVER...I want to throw beer cans at all the "let's leave before the traffic gets bad fans"...ughhh...hello it is NOT like baseball or football...just because your driver is leading with 30 laps to go, does not mean it is over!! THAT drives me nuts...NUTS...you put out HOW much money (or did you get tickets for free) for your tickets and you can't wait to see the end...I am sure they are there for the "gentleman start your engines (which still gives me the willie's) and the fly over and the first wreck and the 10.00 margaritas...They have not acquired the love of sights and smells that come to be so familiar when you go to a race...the smell of the disel exhaust from the merchandise trailers, after a spin on the track...CORNY DOGS or the chills it gives me when the national anthem is played and you can hear people all around you singing...THAT is what makes attending a race spectacular, that is what hooked me...!!
Well I have used my time on the soapbox tonight....

This is what is on Jayski.com
Who owns the Nextel Cup car numbers?
NASCAR owns and assigns car numbers to an owner(s). NASCAR reserves the right to revoke or transfer car numbers to another owner/team at any time. Car numbers are non-assignable and non-transferable, except by NASCAR. NASCAR works with teams and sponsors when a specific number is requested. If duplication of numbers occur, which usually happens with the part-time teams, the fastest qualifier usually gets to use the number unless one team is considered full-time. In 2002, the #27 was used by Scott Wimmer for Bill Davis Racing and by Kirk Shelmerdine, both part time, however, Wimmer was listed in the #27 and Shelmerdine in the #`172 and when they attempted the same races, Wimmer got to use the #27 and Shelmerdine ran the #72, so NASCAR uses it's judgement in deciding who runs the number.(9-6-1999/9-17/2003)

Red 3 just does not work for me, I guess its the black " Intimidator" feature that psycholigically gets ya

In all honesty if he does change over to the number 3 he will probably use RED. Mainly becuase it will downplay the impact of using the number and them expecting him to be exactly like Sr. Think about it, they see the black number three out there and they will want him to act just like Sr.- Jr. wants to be somewhat his own entity and will want to seperate himself from his fathers image therefore using the red color scheme. You heard it here first folks. 8)

Also you may find it interesting that a few weeks back Jr jumped into Kyle Busch's Hendrick Chevy to finish the race and now he wants to use Hendrick engines in his JR motorsports. Checking out the power of his future engine builder???
