A while back I posted a thread asking for ideas for making a flag pole holder, well, I came up with one, and it's inexpensive and works well.
My campers spare tire is mounted on the back of he camper, and the tire rim is lined with holes, approximately 1 inch in diameter. I took 2 "U-bolts", about 7 inches long, and put them through 2 holes at the top of the rim, and 2 holes at the bottom of the rim. Then I clamped in a 10 ft piece of 2 inch schedule 40 pvc pipe, after tightening it up, its held very securely.
Into that pipe, I slide in a 10 ft section of 1.5 inch schedule 40 pvc pipe (its inserted in about 2 feet, then I put a "stop" in the 2 inch pipe), so now I have a nice 18 ft flag pole and flag pole holder for about $13.00. I'm test flying my nascarcamping.com flag right now.

Did that bumper sticker say "my other car is a segway"? Awesome!

Sure does... I don't have one, but I work for Segway, so I do get to take one home. Just too bad NHIS doesn't allow them, otherwise I'll be gliding around the campground all race week.

OK...
I know we have some "house hold technicians" or "nascar rv rigging junkies" around here somewhere.
All I have to work with is a 4"x4" steel tube as a bumper on the rear end of my rig. No spare tire, no bike rack adapter.
Help me come up with a concept for some sort of rigging for a flag pole holder.

Bubba, how about one of the holders thats nothing but a rectangular plate, with a tube welded to it, and you either put the plate under your trailer tongue, or you drive over it with one of your trailer wheels, then put the flag pole in the tube!
Maybe another, cheap way, would be to get a piece of wood, maybe a 2 x 10 x 3 feet, then find a 2 or 3 inch diameter pvc pipe that has a flange attached to it, screw the flange to the wood, put the wood under the trailer tongue or drive over it with one of the trailer wheels, then insert a smaller pvc tube in the flange and build it up from there.

check these out bubba, there are some bumper mounts there, you can likely make one yourself

Yo Bubba,
I have one made up out of electrical conduit pipe. Have one threaded end welded to a small plate. I use C clamps to hold that on the bumper. Then thread together 3 5 foot sections with a pulley on the top for the rope. Instant flag pole. You could weld the plate directly on the bumper but I have not done so yet, don't want to risk frying trailer electrical. My buddy stores his poles inside the bumper inside his pooper hose......not for me but I guess nothin a little Spray Nine won't fix.....:-D
Also have seen them made out of white PVC piping, to reduce weight.
They also sell kits at Camping World if you have one nearby..
