while at Texas the frig. started giving me problems while running on propane. the check light would come on. I could reset it and it would work at first the last day it didn't get cold enough it worked fine on elect. It is a 1990 model RV. Do you think I have a dirty burner? I hope you can give me some advice on what to check first Thanks Steve..

After a period of time, soot and rust particles accumulate on the inside surface of the flue. Road vibrations will loosen these deposits and they crumble and fall to the burner below. The finer particles fall into the burner itself, while the larger pieces remain on top of the burner and cause problems with the flame sensor. As the fine particles build up inside the burner, they alter the burners volume and shape. This results in an improper flame and affects the heat output of the burner. The flame may look normal, but it is not producing the required amount of heat to operate the cooling unit.

first thing to do is to get that burner cleaned out compressed air is the best it will get rid of all the rust and other debris out then check that the flame is a hard blue if its not you may have a regulator issue
if the flame is good then check the thermocoupler that its end is just into the flame as it sends the signal to the board to keep the flame lit you can check the voltage from the thermocoupler with a meter set to millivolts just follow the wires to the board and the wire at the far right is the negitive the other to the left is the positive and the meter will read a negitive reading this is normal and should be between 25 to 35 millivolts if its not then theres your check light replace the thermocoupler or adjust it into the flame and see if the voltage goes up into the correct voltage then the fridge should be ok now
