View Full Version : Getting the word out

Here is an idea, something that came up last year, I dont remember who it was, but someone told me of a car show, or something like that on the east coast I think it was, and the possibility of us having a booth there.
Madd Finn Hockey told us earlier of what the Lions are doing next weekend in New Hampshire, there is a show being put on by the Lions, and they have tables available.
If the price is low enough it got me thinking that maybe since our numbers continue to grow daily that we could maybe get some volunteers around the country to start to man some of these and hand out flyers to people walking by about our website.
Heck maybe even sell some t shirts flags, etc...
At first it was just an idea to get the word out so others can share and learn of all the fun that they can have, but with the declining numbers at each NASCAR race each week, I am starting to think we NEED to do this!!!
We would need volunteers for every track where there is a show/exhibit, etc..., and where the price is reasonable enough to do this, what do you all think??

I think it's a great idea to do!!!
Too bad I'm not going to Bavarian Auto in NH this year:(

Great idea.
I did look into what it would cost to have a booth at the Concord NH Race Fever (www.racefevernh.com) which is held the Thursday before the race, and it's $300 and all proceeds do go to charity. However, if you are associated with a race car / race team, there is no fee.
Now, if you remember, the deal between the WhiskeyGirls and the 84 team to sponsor the car at the NH race was nixed by NASCAR (and folks, I never cashed those checks). But, the girls are still doing a little something with the 84 team. The WhiskeyGirls and the 84 team will have a table together at RaceFever, and I did make a donation in the name of NASCARCamping.com to the WhiskeyGirls to get our name on their banner, which will be at the 84 teams booth at Race Fever, so we will have a little exposure there. (they are supposed to have a booth at the Nationwide race on Saturday, and the banner will fly there also).
The girls have said that if we have any literature of anything to promote NASCARCamping.com we could have it at the booth!
I know its a little too late to do anything big this year, but, if there are any NASCARCamping.com members that will be at the races in NH on Thursday, head to Concord and see the girls, hang out at the booth and push our site. I'll be on the west coast most of the week and won't be back home till sometime Thursday, and if I have time I'll head up there.

What about the Winona Peach Festival there Mr Nascarcamping? That is a local festival you and I could do. Also MOPAR Fest up here in the KW area.
As for doing it at the tracks, I am going to the Brickyard 400 next month and Michigan in August. Not sure about a booth, but could sure promote the site in the campgrounds. I am sure there are a bunch of members going to MIS that could do something as well.
I am off to the NJ Motorplex next Friday and will be in Hamilton on Thursday. Can we meet up and I will grab a few magnets and stickers off you? PM me if this is good.

Not just the reunion...be out of town three of the last four weekends...just been trying to catch up on some well needed house work, and a buttload of other little projects. Just happy my summer is slowing down to where I can put in more hours on this thing.
Dang it...I forgot to send those magnets out...Terry I will get those out to you tomorrow. I have been nothing short of an airhead as of late. I apologize!!

something to think about...
Selling flags and magnets and shits a great idea. Instead of "selling" making a donation level $5.00 above quoted price on whatever we are doing and having the proceeds go to MRO! That way, we are being good for Nascar, MRO, AND Nascarcamping.com
I think it (tradeshows and booths and such) is a great idea and would be willing to help out if possible.

Being in NJ, I am near Wall stadium. Every year it is up in the air if they are going to run races or not. I live about 1.5 hours from Alantic city. The job though has some chalenges. I never know where or when they are going to send me.
I will look into what Car shows are in the area and get back to you. Fisrt I have to get this Delivery in Cincinnati closed up and then get home and finish fixing my camper for THE GLEN..... Let me know if there is something we can do there....
Oh and remember the Canopee idear? Now it is not looking so carzy is it...

Big Thanksgiving Car show at Daytona Speedway, is one of the biggest in the SE happens every year. Also what about RV shows? The big show in Tampa comes to mind usually happens in Jan of each year at the fairgrounds, think that would be the "target audience" so to speak. I can check out getting a "table there if you want me to

I think it's a great idea to do. It's too bad I'm in Canada, because you and I know both that, there's not alot of Nascar fans up here.
Raceline Radio;NASCAR has a strong fan base in Canada with 5.8 million fans, representing one out of four Canadian adults.
Well with 2 million people living in Atlantic Canada, that would only leave 3.8 fans for the rest of the country ;)

I think that having booths at trade shows is a great idea.
It should also be possable to have information available at the Ambassador site at the tracks around the country. Most of the volunteers should be reseptive to the idea.

Thanks. I'll be heading back home by July 1st so no good for me. Thought it might be worth a look, it looks like it is going to be a nice facility.
