Hello we are looking to get a generator for our 30' trailer, I was told to get around a 3500 Watt, but a quiet one!! What is considered quiet? How many decibels is too much? I don't want to upset my neighbors!! Thanks Debbie :?:

check @ home depot for the "RV ready" Champion power equipment generator runs between $199. and $299. depending on sales. 68db are not that loud and you will hear neighbors far louder, just be courteous, if you don't need it going turn it off. In this economy it's hard to justify $2000. for once or twice a year. JMO

Thanks again upsjed, I did go to home depot last nite and the one I went to did not have what I needed, we have 3 more home depots in Nashua, I am going to check with them today. Hopefully I will find one, your right I don't want to spend and can't spend alot on this as you say it really would only when we camp at the track, and this is our first time doing that. We are considering selling our camper anyway as we have no way to haul it, my brother took it up for me this time.....we'll see. Thanks off to home depot! See you up there! Going up tonite. Deb :D

I bought mine through cabela's, but I heard you can get them at auto zone.

It really is a nice generator, and it does not make alot of noise. I got many nice comments on it at Talladega and Bristol.

You can get away with a 2000W, if you run just the AC and nothing else. If you want to run the tv or Microwave, you have to turn the AC off. My father has 2 2000W Honda's and they are a blast compared to his old Yamaha(db and gas wise) Runs everything in the trailer at the same time. And it's light on the back you don't need 2 people to move them. Downfall, a little pricey.

4.1 litre fuel tank allows 4 hours of continuous operation at rated load/ 10.5 hours continuous at 25% load, whisper quiet operation - 59 dba at rated load/53 dba at 25% load, impact resistant case.

That's true enough, but him it was for the weight and ability to move them himself from the truck to the back of the 5th wheel. With his old Yami, he had a chain block set up in the garage to take it out alone..

if you can afford one of those hondas with the inverter tech. its sooooo damn worth it....its silent i run my 19ft on a lil 2000 model it runs everything a/c and all.

but in daytona in july when your running the air alot...best get a bigger one so it dont strain it to hell.

At Camping World you can get the Honda 3000eu for $1700 interest free for 12 months. Not bad... their money for 12 months. I love mine. We were camping at the Brickyard last year and someone had a very loud gen. Security came around and told everybody if their gen was loud it had to be shut off. I told him mine was OK. He told me that " I will be the Judge of that! " :rolleyes:I then told him he was standing next to it. He looked down and said..." This one is OK " ...turned around and left. Me and my buddy still laugh about that one!!!:D

for sure go for one of the inverter generators, especially if you're going to run any electronics in your rig.

Now if you've got the money to spend, I think getting two 2000 watt units, and the kit to run them in series is the way to go! I know that Honda and Kipor have those setups.

I just saw my first Kipor the other day, it sure looks like a Honda.

A couple of pulls and it started right up, and man is that thing quite.

I could see how you could be standing right beside it and with the cars at the track going by you would not even hear it.

I've read places that the kipor (made in China) is a honda knockoff, and that 80 - 90% of the Kipors parts are directly replaceable by honda parts.
