Hey I did not know that about Randy, last time I knew they interviewed him at the Chili Bowl,
Strange thing is though there is a rumour that his dads old track Cayuga is now for sale again.....

The Randy Slack who works with Kenseth (or did) is part of the Slack family, but is not the son of Bob Slack, who owned Cayuga Speedway. He did race locally around here many years ago, was known as "Cousin" Randy Slack to differentiate between Bob's son Randy, who raced a variety of vehicles, including the GATR trucks.
Cousin Randy also worked for Fred Smith in Cayuga before heading south.

Yeh, there seems to be an entertainer with the same name as myself.
I was curator at the Motorsport Hall of Fame, but it ran out of funding, and I have not been at the place for close to a year.
If you google Firefly Books and Tundra Books, you will see some of my past projects. The third edition of NASCAR Now is in the warehouse. And, I'm just finishing up a book on drag racing.
Tim.

I will give you all some useless trivia...sparked by seeing Wheeler and Trevor Boys racing the Nationwide Series today. Trevor Boys would have volunteer pick up crew guys when he used to race in the cup series 20 years ago. One of his former crew guys was a young kid named Ricky Viers, who was most recently the crew chief for the 84 cup car. Ricky and his dad were crew members and also raced a Grand Stock car at Old Dominion Speedway, Manassas, VA and he was the track champion. To give you a taste of how it was back then, car radios were CB radios and Viers used channel 10!
