My 2007 itasca suncruiser w/GM Vortec V8 is misfiring ? / surging after my 750 mile no stop drive to bristol through the mountains in very warm (hot) weather. This was noticed a little while climbing hills on the highway, when I got off the highway in Bristol it got really bad when accelarating from a traffic light. Any ideas ?

Check the plug wires, check the cateletic converter could be partially pluged, check the temp gauge...did it over heat? if so might be a problem with the head gasket????

plug wires look ok, coach only has 7000 miles on it so I dont think it would cat conv. Gonna replace the plug wires while i'mn here though in case of internal damage from the heat. oh ya, the temp guage never went above yhe usual temp

Converter's have plugged up when they are brand new. Sometimes they have some defects. The guage didn't go up but did you check the level of coolent? sometimes when it is low it doesn' hit the sensor thus not showing you and over heat problem.

Have you had it serviced lately. Maybe a Plug wire crossed or your distributor came lose.

i would check those plug wires and pull out the plugs to see if any are a strange color or broken i have seen this on the v10 engines
it could just be a bad batch of gas did the check engine light come on? if so then a gm dealer will be able to scan the computer for fault codes sounds like your close to a service cycle at 7000 miles have the service center scan it when its in just to see if any fault code are there

Well, I replaced the plug wires, put some fuel dryer in the tank and prayed. Engine ran fine all the way to our next stop in Ohio. Thanks for the help/suggestions
