After having some leaks causing damage, I spent some time caulking, but still brought my camper to the local dealer to have it leak checked, and they did find a few more.

So I'm wondering, do any of you have dealer performed leak checking done as part of your yearly maintenance?

haven't so far, but not a bad idea is it expensive?

I haven't seen the bill yet, but up front they told me the leak test would be between $100 - $120 (they charge $99 an hour for labor).

They told me I had a choice if they found any leaks, that they would either tell me where they were and I could fix them, or I could have them do it. Since I could be on the road this week and I'll need the camper next weekend I'm having them do it.

Although I thought I hit everything with the caulking gun, they said they found a few on the top marker lights (I may of forgotten those), around the hot water heater area, and 1 more place which I can't remember.

Yup, dropping it off next Saturday morning. Meeting a few others just south of the track and we're hoping that we will be early enough to get into that area in the L lot known as "The Cove". If you're in L, join us!

I cant Stress enough how important this is. What most dealers wont tell you is that at some point your camper WILL LEAK. It's inevitable. The question is when and where. 75% of the time your camper is leaking you wont even know it till its to late and showing signs. Think of it this way the best built house will leak in the right conditions and it dont go down the road at 70 mile an hour.

Basically what they do is pressurize your camper with air and spray the outside with a soapy solution an wait for bubbles, just like checking a tire. If you dont want to pay the dealer to do it find a way you can do it yourself. It will save you in the long run.
