You will have a great time! :D Our first trip in a rented motorhome to Talladega was a BLAST!

Our first rule is that we figure out how much beer we need to take and then add 2 cases MINIMUM to it! LOL  (one for each drinker)

2nd important rule is that if you are a bottled beer drinker, remember that the tracks only allow cans and plan your beer quota accordingly.

Make sure you have a fairly full tank of gas if you are planning on running your generator - nothing worse than your generator quitting becase you only have 1/4 tank of gas in the RV - happened to us at Talladega - no A/C the last day was miserable.

There's nothing like other Nascar fans to help you out - you'll be fine no matter what!

You can bring a Keg but they won't allow you to take to your seat with a couple straws during the race

Ditto on the gas situation for the generators, unless you have a diesel coach, bring some extra gas cans, we saw this happen last year at Indy, when it was 100 degrees!!!!

The gas ones seem to suck the gas, while the diesels sip it like a fine wine.....

I would think you can take a keg....I just would plan on having plenty of "volunteers" to help you drink it  :D Also ice at the track is PREMIUM so hard to keep a keg cold for the weekend I would think without it costing you a fortune.

great tips! we filled up at the gas station near the track, and just made it. At the price for ice, i am glad we just did cans of bud. It was the best weekend ever when we al went two years ago. we are all looking foward to it again this year. Again what section should i stay in. We wer between turn 2 and 3, closer to 2, second row. Seemed that section was more families, but other section had less kids.

We broght enough beer, but def should have brought more food. any tips on what to bring. last time we went with 8 people. same this year. anyone have a shopping list they use. if its for less people i could double it. We got sick of hotdos and hamburgers after eating them for luch and dinner.

Hi, I have a home right down the street so we go every year to the infield. Here's the deal, if you camp in the infield area for overnight camping, you can't leave. This is a big one. The infield is separated for day trippers to the infield and people who are camping for the weekend. In other words, if you are camping in the infield for the weekend, once you are in, you can't take a vehicle out. You said you have a motorhome so you probably were not planning on leaving anyway. But if you have a travel trailer or 5th wheel and want to leave the infield to take a ride, you can't. Once you are in, you are in. Not sure what the times are for having to be in, check that out at the site for the track.

They have showers you can pay for so you may want to use those whenever possible so you don't fill up your gray water tank since there are so many of you in one rig. Also use the Johnny on the Spots in the beginning while they are clean to save room in your black water. Don't want to get stuck having full waste tanks and have to pay for the honeydipper dude.

Otherwise, you'll have a blast for sure.

GDjoe,

i do infeild security at Pocono. cans are mandatory, the Boy Scouts recycle them after the races. Kegs are OK....Ice is sold by the Security Headquarters on Tunnel Rd. they were charging $5 a bag of ice. if your there to party, try to get a spot on the road course, There is a DJ on the road course near 1st Ave. If you need help with anything there, just ask. I work night shift, stop a guard and ask for A.J., i will be Infeild Mobile North....and i will swing by.

Have fun, Stay Save......you will have a blast

We have a few questions that we are trying to get an answers on. We have been to several Dover races with our RV but we are going to Pocano in August for our first time. We have our race tickets and have received our pass for the Family camping area.

Question # 1 We are both handicapped with limited walking. Do they have designated areas for RV parking in the Family Camping areas ?

Question # 2 We are arriving on the Thursday morning. What is a good time to arrive and what kind of wait is normal ?

Thanks SouthernPAJrfans
