Was listening to Raceline on the radio on the way home from Charlotte, the had the guy that was heading up the investment group on air. Sounds like all the legal stuff has been looked after, just need to get the money finalized. They are saying NASCAR caliber 1 mile 18 deg banked oval with 165,000 seats? At least thats what I thought he said. Possibly a seperate road course as well. To be built by 2010.

But all that is fine and good, they would still need to get a race date there! SMI would be screaming if they put a cup date there and not Kentucky! On the other hand, NASCAR has been inkling for further expansion into the Canadian market. Drawing from the southern Ontario market as well as easy drive from NY, PA and OH. We're talking 25 to 30 mil people within a 5 hour drive!

The radio host flat out asked if the investors had talked to NASCAR, and although he didn't answer directly he said that " they had all their ducks in a row". Makes me wonder.........

We wish for this to transpire but with the S/Market playing games it will not work as our side of the border, the costs escalate,be after market sponsors, or our governmental outlook, all races have to break even at least, and the era of ASA races should provide some insight into what may happen. I wish that I could see some shining light BUT. Les't all enjoy what we are able to and ride out this blasted year and plan for next.
