I am seriously going through withdrawal now that the Nascar season is over. I knew I had become overly obsessed but didn't realize I was to the point that I can't manage without it..lol . I guess it is what got me through my weeks(school has been pure hell)and now I am just lost=( Wow...never imagined I'd get so into a sport that I basically live and breathe it. Maybe I need to take a little trip to Mooresville=)
Anyone else going crazy without their weekly Nascar races? Any suggestions on what to do to fill my void on Sunday's (oh and Friday and Saturday because I guess I was glued to speed channel then to)?
Too bad the economy sucks and the teams are getting rid of people instead of hiring because something like a PR rep job sounds real appealing right now...

Same - we came home from work last Friday, and looked at each other and said "What are we going to watch tonight - no racing - bummer! :(

I have a love/hate relationship with the off season. I hate the fact that I don't have a race to watch, but I love the fact that I have an entire weekend to get stuff done. :) Still, February can't come soon enough!!!

I got up early sunday and cleaned the house. At about 1:00 I started to go up to the bar to watch the race when it dawned on me, There was no race. I didn't know what to do with myself the rest of the day.

At least there is football to watch. Now ... if your team doesn't do so well ... then it will seem like forever until February arrives. :) Counting the days until Daytona!!!

Here are some different "racing" venues i've run across while channel surfing. I consider the "off season" the time to expand my "racing education" ROFL.
Drifting, never really bothered with it but when nothing else on is interesting, they certainly go thru some tires.
snowmobile racing no offense to our friends in the Great White North, just a bit too cold for me.
From Europe saw their version of Truck racing, they race the cabs from 18 wheelers, quite interesting to see those big ole things run around a road course for sure.
Ran across some lawnmower racing the other nite, actually amazed I am admitting I watched it

I will admit I have found myself sucked in by this as well when I have seen it on...those things haul butt!! That and it is just funny. That and the really really really REALLY high speed go carts are fun to watch. Especially when it is kids on them.

Don't forget the Chili Bowl will be in Mid- January. Last word was Tony S, Casey K, JJ Yeley, Josh Ford and several other nascar drivers will be there. Should be close to 270 entries- 5 days of racing.

Well during my withdrawals I have been all over Alabama football and I went to the local drag racing track for Pinks All Out with a buddy of mine thats in the fire department. It was a tad emotional as it was the first time he has taken his sons' car back to the track since he was killed back in 2005. It made some good passes but Stevies car did great. We made it all the way to the final 8 before being put out. That was a great day making the final 8 out of 400+ cars. We will be on the Speed channel for the third season of Pinks All Out Montgomery, Alabama edition. I will be the idiot out at the track NOT wearing a jacket. I had to take one for the team by not wearing my jacket so our fire dept logo could get on TV. Anyway here are some pics from the Cell camera.
