Ok here is the short of it I bought an 07 Pace Arrow 36d New in July here is the list of problems I have. My question: Is this thing a lemon or do all rv's have this problem? I am turning it in for service again on Monday after the SEC Championship game. I am woundering how to approach this with the dealership. Any help would be great.

valance and couch

Yes brand new. I have heard every Rv has it's bugs and they have even told me that too. I didn't think this many bugs was a normal thing. Do Rv's fall under lemon law?

I had many problems with my 2007 Itasca Suncruiser however your list is unbelievable. Every trip I took except for 1 this summer I had a different issue, I heard the same thing from my dealer, "it happens to all of them", as far as I'm concerned it's unacceptable and the industry should be ashamed if this is considered "normal". The problem with the lemon law in New York, which does cover motorhomes is that the "living portion" is NOT included/covered by the law, basically it only covers what is required to make the thing go down the road. I did send notice to Winnebago Industries that I was going to file under the lemon law anyway, this resulted in being contacted by the regional service manager and I was able to work out a settlement extending my warranty by 30 days more than the number of days the rig was in the shop (50) as well as them covering the deductible on my extended service plan with Good Sam club for one of the biggest problems I had (slide out and jack hydraulic system). I suggest you send the manufacturer written notification of your displeasure with the unit as well as displeasure with your dealership if they haven't been helpful. I know how frustrating this can be. Good luck.

Well are u making payments on it or did u buy it outright. If you r making payments stop making them and let them take it back maybe that will get their attention,Make up a sign on the back or side of it and park it where everyone including the dealer can see it, Screw them you put alot of money and time into for them to treat you like shit, so treat them like shit back.

A couple that we camp with at many local races bought a Gul.…… BTC.…. that had problems not unlike yours. They live in Nova Scotia & bought the unit in New Brunswick (both in Canada).
They returned the unit to the dealer and hired a lawyer in NS who in turn contacted a lawyer in NB & the US.

Expensive gamble but it paid off as the mfr. took the unit back and repaired the unit, flew the owner out to view the unit before retuning it. They covered most of his costs and extended the warranty. The dealer whom the owners blame for most of the issues got off “Scott free” and now has nothing but good things to say about the mfr. now.

Note;
They had only used the unit once when they returned it to the dealer and would not take it back after the dealer could not or would not repair the long list of issues.

I would definitely print out the list you shared with us and take that directly to them...it should speak for itself when you argue that they need to replace the RV(and that is what needs to happen). I read the list and it reminded me of my $2100 sony laptop that I had in getting fixed every month that I and it until last month(2 years later) the screen somehow cracked while I was typing, they refused to repair it because they said it was dropped which it most certainly had not been. Anyhow, I put up with it more than I should of and should have fought with them until they replaced the thing(even way before the screen cracking internally). Of course, a laptop is a hell of a lot cheaper then an RV but my point is that if you don't fight it now and make them replace it the problems are just going to continue and your ging to get more and more angry. The end result could be you on your way to a very important race with a very broken down RV that you can't get fixed and you certainly don't want that!! I don't know exactly what to say that will make them give in but maybe if you put together some good information(for example the lemon law) and present it to them and even threaten to get a lawyer if the problem isn't solved it will scare them enough to replace the RV. Sorry you are having so much difficulty, it has got to make you just sick! I've never heard of that many problems on a RV though I've never owned one myself. I'll ask friends that I know who have RV if they've ever heard of such problems and let you know what they say!

I would contact the manufacturer...I have found a firmly worded, yet tactful letter NOT email works wonders when I need resolution. Send it certified, sends photos and all the documentation that you can produce.

I had a 1990 vehicle that after owning it for four years the paint started peeling. I went to the dealer...my car was covered under some recall cause they had changed the paint formulas that year for EPA or something. They repainted my car...and it looked WzORSE than when paint was coming off of it. I went round and round with the dealership, the body shop manager, etc...they all told me that is the best they were going to do. I fired off a Certified letter to the customer service address at Chevy and had a call within two days of the receipt of my letter. They called the dealership...and I got a call from the dealership within a half hour of my call from Chevy, and their only question to me was "What can we do to make this right..." My reply was..."Make it right...make it look like something you would want to drive". Needless to say, that car got the best repaint job ever...looked showroom new when I picked it up.

The old saying "The pen is mightier than the sword"...obviously who ever said that had to be dealing with some kind of warranty issue...ha!!

If that does not work...then go the legal route...5.32 cents for a certified letter can get you as good of results as a high price lawyer sometimes.:razz:

"I have heard every Rv has it's bugs and they have even told me that too"

Hon....i don't think your RV has bugs....i think it has a herd of elephants running thru it!!! I'm with the PIG....i would write a letter with the list pictures dates it has been in the repair shop, etc.... i would not sit back and take the dealer at his word! i would want a resolution and a resolution is the only thing i would settle for!

good luck and stay safe

I'm all for doing EVERTHING when I can't get an issue resolved by going the nice route. Write detailed letter to dealer, with cc: at the bottom so they see that the manufacturor and anyone else the least bit associated with building your coach, is getting copied on the letter also. Send copy of letter to dealer to President of manufacturer, and everyone else you cc;, think I put some names and addresses earlier in this post. Also depending on where you live contact your local newspapers and TV stations, most of the have a "Call for action reporter" or something close to that handles "consumer issues" that make good news. Believe me Newpapers and TV stations love sinking their teeth into a good consumer horror story. When its printed and or aired make sure to send copies to the dealer and the manufacturer, they hate bad publicity. Many times the consumer reporters from the TV stations will contact folks directly and get action where you can't because the manufacturer wants to look good in print and on TV. Really use the media all you can it really works
