3 of us took our rigs up to NHIS today (Saturday), they are still squeezing in everyone tight, but they gave us a tiny bit more room, and we didn't run into any of the angry cluessless parking attendents we've run into in the past (maybe they were at a different lot), the ones who helped us were ok.
This year they are asking each camper to fill out a survey about their camper (type, length, number of slideouts, size of slideouts), but they didn't say what they are going to do with the information, it will be interesting to see if they use it in a constructive, positive manner.

I heard of this before, maybe someone posted this on our site, but hopefully they are going to use it and make things better, maybe doing a survey to see what size rigs we are all driving and then make changes

Oh, something I forgot to add, they are asking those filling out the surveys to put their parking sticker number on the survey. From that number they will know who you are, and what type of camper you have. Just have to wait and see how they use it.

MORE ROOM & NO MASS CONFUSION WHEN PARKING! :D :D :D :D

Any additional room even a few inches would be great. :!:

Last Setpember mid week the track had their staff measure the lenght and width of a large number of RV's in "L" lot, but would not comment when questioned what they were doing.

today i visited Speedway sports park, the private park on the other side of L lot, and I just may be going there next year. Its double the price, but you do get more room, more flexibility in how you and your neighbors set up your campers, more showers, water, entertainment, and more extras...... it looks pretty good

We have been parking in the "L" lot for the past 7 years without any issues, except this year. The guy who parked us pulled us in the wrong direction and told us we could either put our slideout or awning out, but not both. We told him we had never had this problem before and he had parked us wrong, he pretty much told me that if I didn't shut up he was going to take my tickets. We waited until they started parking other campers and my husband backed out turned around the way we should have been in the first place and all was fine.

Man, this track just cant seem to get things right, maybe we should have an award for the worst track on the circuit

nascarjunkie sounds like you had the same guy we had two (2) years ago. When we questioned why he had parked us in the wrong direction he went into hyper mode. I ask another attendant to speak to his supervisor he left and the supervisor showed up to set thing right.

Having said this most of the staff at NHIS are very friendley and helpful, with the exception of the RV parking staff.

LOL, I think we have all pretty much had the same expiriences at NHIS with the RV parking crews. I recently had major surgery on my left knee so I have a handicapped RV spot for the race this week. Headed down tomorrow afternoon. I'll let ya know if things are any different in those lots.

Well, if any of you are walking around L lot, stop by and visit. We're between poles 4 & 5, on the left side as your walking towards the track, and we're right on the road, a Coyote 23 Hybrid, white, with blue & white tents, canopy facing the road, and a checkered flag carpet out front.

Well they still squeezed everyone in pretty tight. However, I must say that it was the easiest time I have had since I started going to NHIS that I had parking the camper. Two young girls were parking everyone in L and in the handicapped lot. They did an extraordinary job in getting everyone in and set up quickly and painlessly! I went directly to the main office to commend them on their job, and explain that I have had nothing but bad expiriences with parking attendants for the last few years. They had already had a few people comment on things going much better than they usually did, and are talking about addressing the fact that we all get squeezed in so tightlly as well. According to people in the garage area and the office, NHIS has one of the biggest pouring out of RV and campers of any track! Our weekend was by far the best one yet at NHIS. We directly to the NASCAR credential office on Friday morning to get our passes and our kids infield passes. We then proceeded to the infield and to the entrance of the garages and pits. The boys and my wife stood there and got a few autographs while I went into the garage area and met several drivers and crew guys. I got to meet most all of the cup drivers over the run of 3 days. The kids got most all drivers autographs right there at the entrance to the garage. I got some race used lugnuts from Truex Jr's pit wagon from the previous week for my kids in the garage while they were getting autographs out at the gate. Martin Truex Jr took the time to stop and chat with them and then Dale Jr. appears out of nowhere and got mobbed by a few people wanting his autograph, he signed 2 autographs and jumped on his golf cart to leave, notice my youngest son standing by his mom near the fence with all the autographs on his shirt, and then came over to him and made sure he signed his t-shirt too! Too cool, most of them made sure that the kids got their autograph even if they were not really in the mood to sign stuff. We also had a women jump in front of him while Kyle Petty was talking to him and getting ready to sign his shirt, and Kyle just kinda pushed her aside and continued his conversation, signed the shirt and left without signing the womans book! All in all they both got about 30 autographs from the entrance to the garage. From there my friend at MRO came with the golf cart and took us to meet with Jeff Green at his motorcoach. Being welcomed inside we met with Jeff, who I must say is one of the nicest people I have met through NASCAR and any affiliates. Just a great down to earth man, it seemed like sitting there talking to an old friend you hadn't seen for some time. He gave the kids each a hat and we talked a while, met his coach driver (from Maine also) and his family as well as few others that had gathered around the drivers coaches and family area. Sunday morning we met with Ward Burton at his coach, another great guy. He gave the boys both a at and autographed it outside his coach. We got to meet Robby Gordon there as well. We then proceeded to the drivers meeting, and we all got to meet ALL 43 DRIVERS AND CREWCHIEFS at the meeting, which was just soooooooooooo awesome!! We stayed for the church service put on by MRO, and got on TV through Direct TV broadcasting the service, as MRO had asked me to help hand out the programs for the service. So I got to come face to face and talk to all the drivers, crewchiefs, and their families at the service. We ate at the restaraunt in the infield and headed to our seats. The only autograph that the boys hadn't gotten yet was Richard Petty because he was on a motorized scooter everytime we saw him. But on the way to the tunnel, he stopped and signed their items, and then all was good! We went to our seats and settled in for another great NHIS race! So we had one heck of a weekend at Louden, and I can't wait to get back there in a few weeks! Best of all, we have the credentials anytime we want them from here on out at any track! So no more buying tickets for Thurs, Fri, and Sat, as watching from the pits and infield was a whole lot cooler! I'll have some pics as soon as I get a little rest!

If youhave topay the same price as MIS why can't NHIS designate all sites with a number like MIS. this way you have a 20 X 40 or 50 ft.site that you can come at any time . they spend all the time and effort to park us terribly
