I couldn't agree with you more at least you can camp at Mosport and it's a great road course maybe if the turnout is poor in Montreal they'll give it a try

Exactly, is there any other track in Nascar where they race but you cant camp at :?:

Thats what makes Nascar great, its all about the experience of pulling up, spreading out and enjoying the nightlife and other people.

Montreal is for more of the F-1 crowd, whoops, I spilled my cavier see, I dont even know how to spell that word :x

Now pass me the white wine

Indianapolis being located deep inside the city has very limited camping, concidering that 280,000 fans attend the race. O’Reilly Raceway Park has no camping associated to the track. Of course the races at both locations occur the same weekend, so I am not sure how many people would want to be that far from IMS. Unless you are staying at a hotel.

Why Montreal and not Mosport?
Good question but I would suspect it come down to $$$$$$$$$$.

Could be sponsorship was more lucrative in Quebec and I know in the past any group hosting an international events in Quebec had access to Federal funds that other provinces did not (not sure this still applies). :?

Based on the number of cars with Quebec license plates at NHIS during a NASCAR event, there appears to be a strong NASCAR base in Quebec.

All said, I agree that Mosport would have been a better choice to host a NASCAR event in Canada.

But let’s be happy that a NASCAR event has finally returned to Canada. :)
