We are getting ready to replace the tires on our camper (it is a 30' pull behind); it currently has Bias Ply. Should we replace with bias or radial. The tires are only a couple of years old (they came on the camper new), but the tires are starting to show "dry rot" on the sidewall and we think we should replace them. Our concern is; will the radial contribute to "sway" of the trailer, {don't have any - don't want any :D.} The replacement radial tire will still be a "ST". THANKS!

Depending on the size if they r 15's or 16's try to get E rated. They can haul a heavier load and r much better at abuse like rubbing curbs and sharp turns.

Thanks; I appreciate your response. The ones I have found are 8ply (D) rated.

The radials should be better. Spend the extra $10 or so when you get them mounted and have them nitrogen filled. I have my truck tires and camper tires filled with nitrogen and it makes a difference on the fuel mileage. Have never had one tire vary in pressure in over a year.

Dont be putting any cheapies on them, call your local tire dealer, and ask him what the most expensive toughest and highest rated tire is that he has to this size.

Then if you can get a size bigger.

Dont mess around with price and quality here, it is the #1 problem with all rv's and thats tires.

We hadn't thought about a bigger size, but it makes sense...Thanks. :D

Christ i had to put a couple of tires on my float trailer that i haul my bobcats around with today if i had of gotten caught by the MTO with them it would of cost me a few bucks. Problem is with 15 inch tires it is very hard to find them IN E rated and they all tend to be made in China.
