So tonight (Tuesday night) I got some very good news just before Pit practice started. The Allgaier racing team that won the ARCA championship last season with Justin Allgaier as their driver one on of the teams interested in us at PIT. Last year they took 3 guys from PIT and this year they need 4 for the full season, 2 carriers, 1 changer and 1 jack man.
So just after attendance was taken and as we went out for our warm up coach Adam took 4 of us aside including myself and said after the past few weeks of evaluations they have chosen us to be those 4 guys to work for the team all season. The next race is this weekend in Salem, Indiana and we also race this month in Rockingham and Talladega.
I am super pumped for a number of reasons, but more so that I’m going racing again and it looks like I will have a busy season unless I screw up somehow. I felt like the past few weeks I have done really well and improving every day. We do a lot of video now from a bird’s eye view and sometimes take a hand held camera to get a side view of ourselves out there. I view every video or myself and of others to improve everyday picking up on the small things that save a half a second, which in Racing is a lot.
Second of all they school I’m at is only sending two teams out for the full season, one teams was already determined last January and we were picked together through the past two weeks. So my school is only sending out 2 out of 9 jack man who I am first lucky, thankful and relieved. I’m thrilled that I got picked, but I know that the rest of the guys are working really hard for this too and they are staying home this weekend while Justin (the other jack man) and I will be in Indiana. We all help each other out and push each other every day at time and I can credit some of the guys for pushing me on pit road and in the gym.
So I’m heading to Indiana this weekend and hope to be doing many more races for this team. I know right now that our car number is 36, and I think it’s a Dodge. Our driver is Robb Brent, I don’t know much about him, but my buddy Scott Crews who will be the front carrier said he’s young and ran in 8 races last year, led some laps and almost won a race. So we may be checkers or wreckers, but who knows but I’m looking forward to it, can’t wait!!!
I will kept everyone posted through the weekend if I can, looks like an 8 ½ hour drive through Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky until we hit Indiana. Salem is about 100 miles south of Indy I’ve heard so that gives you all somewhat of an idea where we will be. After the race I will try to get a summary like the one from Daytona telling you all about it. Until then have a great week and wish me luck.

knute2 ... congratulations and good luck to you. We will be in Talladega cheering on Eddie Mercer in the Arca race. He is a local guy here from Pensacola. Our good friend Trooper Tim (he is a Florida Highway Patrol ... hence the name) that races with Eddie here at Five Flags Speedway is trying to get us some "hot" passes for the Arca race. If by some small chance we get those, we'll look for you. We will be in the Green Infield section 700's ... just look for the Nascarcamping.com flag.

Excellent work bro! It is so nice to see that hard work pays off in the end!

If there were a few million more people here in North America like you we could end this recession faster than a lap at Talladega!

Keep it up!

Congrats! So excited for you! That is pretty awesome that it is the Allgaier team too. I'd bet Justin will try to make it to some of the races when he isn't driving at the same time in the Nationwide series and that would definitely be another good contact for you.

I was going to try and head to the Indiana ARCA races this year as Salem isn't too far from me but I have Relay for Life this weekend so that plan went out the door....maybe I'll make it to the September race there. Let me know if the ARCA races there are good so I know if it is worth the trip. I really need to catch some of these smaller series races around here, maybe then I wouldn't be so desperate to get to the Nascar races....or maybe not!

Glad to see that the PIT school experience has really seemed to work out well for you. I hope you continue to enjoy it more and more now that you have a team.

we arrived in Indiana earlier today around 6pm. about a 8 hour drive that wasnt so bad for the most part. we are stayin at a hotel about 30 minutes from the track just over the Indiana/Kentucky line. Kentucky was nothing but farm land for the most part.

From what i hear we qualified 18th. tho the weather is up in the air. its supost to rain so we dont kno if we will get the whole race in or not. if it rains out we would race on monday. It should be interesting and fun, pit road is small and the track is similar to Bristol minus 160000 seats.

1 note there is a band playing in a bar thats connected to the hotel, we didnt go but from my room i can hear them, its a girl singer and shes good..mostly country covers.

Big day tomorrow..biggerseason, looking forward to it

It is too bad they couldn't have run your race yesterday, at least here it was nice and I would assume it couldn't have been too much different down there because it isn't all that far.
It has been pouring all day up here, watched the Indy news this morning and they said we can expect flurries through Tuesday, hopefully it will all miss Salem and you can get this in sooner than later! Good luck and have a blast!

well the rain held up until the last minute. the race started just after 2 and it started sprenkling with about 15 laps to go, it didnt rain hard until the checkard flag fell. though the rain didnt last long either so if the race started later we still could have goten it all in.

We finished 10th a good top ten for maybe a 20th place car. had a 4 tire stop and a 2 tire stop. give more detials and fill you in on the weekend soon this week in a post. Robb (yes it has 2 b's) was just happy to finish the race LOL.

on our way back now somewhere in Tennessee. should be in Mooresville around 1am, have to work 8 hours starting at 9:30 so it will be a long day after work and practice/workout.

next race Rockingham in 2 weeks
