Interesting what you stumble on, found this,Interesting read from someone who apparently designs tracks be it for $$ or for fun I have no idea. Talk about a superspeedway

One of my specific designs; i.e. a very futuristic / highly unconventional / ultra state of the art 3.250 mile Bi-loop Superoval Superspeedway is being explored as a potential replacement for Darlington Raceway. The primary target location for this proposed superspeedway is in or near the proximity of Columbia, South Carolina; i.e. approximately midway between Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Two highly similar 1.50 mile D-shaped “cookie cutters.”

Conceptual Motorsport Facility Plan Number 10:
Track type: Bi-loop Superoval Superspeedway
Track length on baseline: 3.250 miles/17,161.68 feet
Turns: 9, minimum turn radius 564.00’, maximum turn radius 920.00’ (turn 6 - the “Super Ninety”)
Straightaways/tangents: 8, minimum length 825.00’, maximum length 1,320.00’
Track width: 60’ minimum, 90’ maximum
Racing surface in square feet: approximately 1,298,707
Proposed maximum car capacity: 48; 48 pit stalls per plan, each 40’L x 19’W minimum
Estimated permanent seating capacity: 240,720 excluding suites

Conceptual Motorsport Facility Plan Number 10 is a registered work filed in the United States Copyright Office.

Said facility was designed primarily for stock cars, although I believe that on proposed 3.250 mile Superoval Superspeedway track configuration it is highly likely that the IndyCar Series would be able to put on a pretty spectacular show. Moreover, a Grand Am and or American Le Mans Series race on said superspeedway could prove to be quite entertaining.

Stock cars should not be required to run restrictor plates on the proposed 3.250 mile Bi-loop Superoval Superspeedway track configuration. It will not be possible for stock cars to run flat out on said superspeedway. Braking entering specific turns on said superspeedway will be necessary.

Re stock cars, I believe said superspeedway would put a premium on driver talent and car set up. This may also be true for modern era open-wheel cars.

The stock car event I would like to see on said superspeedway would be a 399.75 mile / 123 lap race under the lights with a slight twist. Laps under caution would not count. I would like to see the Indy cars go 500.5 miles / 154 laps.

The name I propose for this proposed facility is the South Carolina International Autodrome (SCIA).

A unique 2.00 mile Superoval Superspeedway; i.e. Conceptual Motorsport Facility Plan Number 2B, is the alternate plan also under consideration as a potential replacement for Darlington Raceway.

Conceptual Motorsport Facility Plan Number 10:
Track type: Bi-loop Superoval Superspeedway
Track length on baseline: 3.250 miles
Proposed banking of turns: 7.50 degrees minimum, 18 degrees maximum

Conceptual Motorsport Facility Plan Number 2B:
Track type: Superoval Superspeedway
Track length on baseline: 2.000 miles
Proposed banking of turns: 8 degrees minimum, 10 degrees maximum

Those sound interesting. My only contention would be they need to replace the track at Pocono, not Darlington. ;)

Agreed Tim, Pocono would be the perfect spot for a Track like this,

Of course we would need the old rain tires at Pocono along with lights for the haze/ fog whatever that is normal with Pocono
