Done!
As past president of our Provincial Snowmobile Association and currently the co-chair of the OHV Ministerial Advisory Committee, Trails sub-committee clearly understand how difficult these battles can be.

Hey I feel for your friend. I am an avid sledder myself and realize how difficult it is to maintain trails and get access to enjoy a good ride. I was interested so I went to read the articles about your friends battle with the state. He beat a ticket from the state for driving on the road because of improper classification to have it closed to motorized traffic. To have it opened to motorized traffic is an issue for local residents to decide and NT State Law implemented correctly. Although I feel for your cause, us out of towners should not be interfering with local matters. You should be lobbying hard locally for support. It really is not fair to folks in the area to ask people who have no vested interest in the matter to influence it.

Well actually when things like this come up there is public comment from around the world. The environmental groups put out action alert e-mails that go around the country and the world. Most of them don't any more about it than you. Some, or most have never been to the Adirondacks or New york State. But I understand what you are saying.
This is the third time they have had the same poll on the same issue. The editor of the paper is a far out environmental loon. So far the past three times we won the poll buy a landslide. The poll really means nothing. the town supervisors in both towns are snowmobilers. This time I just want the win to be so humiliating that we don't get it again for a 5th, and a 6th, and a 7th...... We haven't won buy any less than 73% in the past. And trust me, the ski group and the enviro groups are doing the same thing as me.
Thanks for your input though tradinpaintwith24

Was going to stay away from this one because i might be considered one of those "and I hate environmentalists" people that you seem to hate. I gotta agree with TradinPaint here.Really is an issue for locals to decide..... I grew up in upstate New York and am very familar with the area and it is very lovely for all... folks need to learn to coexist.fyi some enviromentalists have been known to snowmobile and even jetski, now that they live in the South. Hates a pretty tough word to throw around

I’m a strong proponent of community base trail development. But the Adirondack Council is a lobby group and not a trails group that are affiliated with CCE which use these same tactics to their advantage.
I do see where in other articles local land owners support the use of the “road” as a multi use trail.
In 1978 the Town of Keene approved a resolution to NOT close the subject road. http://www.adirondackdailyenterprise.com/pdf/news/503799_3.pdf
A lobby group not the local residence continues to fight this.
Should have I stayed out of this issue Yes, would I do it again Yes.
Now as a multi use trail activists I have to ask how in heck did I get myself into this on of all a NASCAR board?

Before they yank the thread.
I guess I should have said radical environmentalists. The meant the ones that hate me because I ride a snowmobile. Or have a gas guzzling RV. My friends think of me as the redneck, environmentalist, snowmobile ridin', computer geek. Where I live, I care more for the environment than the environmental groups. But I like my snowmobiles too.
