I can see that on tv, but for as long as I've been watching they haven't talked about attendance

see the section where they have it covered with plastic? Looks like they are trying to hide it.

I saw it......signs of the times

Dover is like Bristol on steroids...you would think the Monster Mile would get more recognition

I think someone along the way got a little too aggressive with the number of seats at that place. IMO, way too many seats for the market it serves.

That being said - it's a great track to watch a race!

Dover is one of the best tracks to watch a race at in my opinion. The stands during the tv brodcast looked like a nationwide race. That was the worst I'd seen at a track so far.

My cousin in NJ decided he wanted to go to Dover at the last minute, said he called up on Friday and had no trouble getting tickets. Pocono is pushing hard to sell tix as well. I got several emails this week. Michigan is pushing hard as well. The Chrysler and GM troubles are hitting them hard on ticket sales. People are struggling to keep their homes and food on the table, the extras have to go.

Their are alot of empty seats at all the tracks, a combination of the times and maybe a bit of over saturation, i think they need to get rid of some of the rules and get back to old time racing they have pissed away a ton of money on the car of tomorrow which i think is a joke how bout lets make the cars look like cars on the showroom floor again. I think its going to get alot worse then better at these tracks when their second date arrives. Christ i went to Michigan last year for the Aug race and thier were a ton of empty seats.

empty seats in the stands and an empty infield where all the platform trucks used to be, there was plenty of room for us in there. Why would dover stop another revenue stream when people won't even go to sit in the stands ?

Also saw a pile of vacant seats on TV. Tough times ahead for all sports venues.

On the positive side, some fans who have for years wanted to go to some of the tracks that were always sold out, now will have a chance to get tickets.

Up here in Canada, Michigan is running daily ads for tickets starting at $40.00!!
