TEST ON 12-12-09 -- DIRT AND ASPHALT MODIFIEDS TESTED ON THE NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARKS, THUNDERBOLT SPEEDWAY WITH HOPES OF A DATE FOR A ROAD COURSE RACE IN 2010.

The test today went great! Every one was very pleased to see the dirt modifieds get around the road coarse. All the guys did a great job, Brett Ballard, Neil Williams, Jesse Hill, Sam Wescott, Pat Conway, Jimmie and Billy Chester, and Richie Pratt who was really getting around the Thunderbolt raceway, very impressive. We even had Warren Alston in the flag stand today. The cars worked surprisingly well. I spoke to all the drives and they really enjoyed running on the road coarse. Although it was cold today tire wear and temps looked good as the Dirt Hards seemed to work real well. Don Fauerbach from NJMP was extremely pleased and hopefully we will be making an announcement soon about a date for the Dirt Modifieds in 2010.

Wayne thanks to you and those involved setting this thing up. Now that there's a chance for a dirt Modified race are there any plans for another test and tune in the spring to get more cars out for testing??

The dirt modifieds didn't seem to do to bad on the road course. Brett Ballard seemed to be pretty fast at the beginning of the day, but by the end of the day Richie Pratt was screaming the big block down the long straightaway and getting through the RIGHT HANDER at the end of the straight pretty darn good! There were a few people with a watch on the cars, but I can't remember any times off the top of my head. I hope the NJMP brass was happy with what they saw and I hope they get that OVAL in the works ASAP! Be it tar or dirt cars, I've like to have an event like this close to home.
