Well I will be leaving for Pocono in the AM. Can't wait, accept that it figures that it will be in the middle of a heat wave and I don't have a quiet enough generator to run the AC. :x Maybe I can make friends with a good neighbor and plug into them. :P

I am a hobby photographer, so maybe I can get some good up to date Pictures while I am there.

Is anybody ells from this forum going to be there? :?:

I would love to go also. Bummer about the heat. I should be happy because normally the race would have been here in Indy. Then I would have been sweating my butt off.

I'll be leaving in the morning. Are you on the infield? Stop by. # 28 fenceline. People run contractor generators 24/7.

Do the track "police" make you turn off your generator or do they only pick on you if they get a complaint. I have to think that all RVers who dry camp realize that generators make noise and if everyone is running them they drown each other out. I can see it on a nice cool evening, but on a sweltering hot humid night how the heck do you sleep inside an RV without AC? :x

Heck I actually like the drone of the generator and the noise of the AC. It helps me sleep as does the cool.

The 10 KW Quite Diesels are almost unnoticeable.

My 7.5 is pretty quite.

The gas ones though are a different story.

I know of some tracks where it is a discretionary item........

Heck some times you see guys with huge industrial gennies, now that is a something else

Well, we had a great time!!! :D When we arived at 9:30 am and they staged us, (even though they said there was no stageing) I got lucky and pulled in behind a bunch of people that always show up together and set up a little courtyard. Lucky for my daughter, (and my other half and I ) one of them had a 6 year old daughter. We were able to finagle a camp spot near them so Lillian was able to play with her all week end.
I didn't bring the generator, but when I heard the weather report for friday afternoon, and heard some of the noise makers, I ran home and picked it up. (2hr drive one way).
We stayed in the Family RV Grandstand area. I was very pleased with the attitude of the people in this area. :) Not alot of loud partying late at night. We could just bearly hear all the noise from the infield area and if you steped out in the wee hours of the moring, they were still going. I can't party like that anymore
I am at Jelly Stone park in Lancaster PA at the moment, but when I get home and I can reduce the size of my Pictures, I will get them posted so you all can enjoy them. 8)

Glad you had a great time. I can't hang with the all night crowd either any more. :?

I like to go visit them and join in the fun, and when I'm done sneek away to my nice quiet campsite. :D Looking forward to seeing some pics when you get back.

I have a big Coleman 5000watt generator. With the standard muffler it would wake a bear from hibernation. I contacted my parts guy at Napa and asked him his advice since he was into RVing. He asked me what the pipe size was on the muffler and said stop back in 2 days. He gave me a muffler that should probobly be on a VW, and it worked great.
I did not hear any loud generators after "quiet time" but we had cool nights. Some people did have them running all night though.
I did hear one guy complaing that the made him turn off his generator because the fumes were blowing toward other campers. That is why they make an extension that you can put on the exaust to send the fumes over the top.

At Indy they threw t-shirts and flags and hats. :)

I didn't catch anything but a little bit of the guy in front of me's beer

Yes that is Me, April the "Better 1/3" and Lilly my daughter the best 1/3rd.

They were throwing necklaces, t-shirts, can coolers. They would aim at Lillian and some bozo would jump in front of her so the speed girls and DJ would walk down and call her over and hand them to her. She did better then I did, cause I guess she is cuter then me
