I was dirving and only ended up with an open tib/fib fracture (we'll not get into the gory details), and wendy has a broken left wrist and a few fractured ribs.

My God were you lucky? Those pics are worse than I had dreamed. Get the injuries healed and get to Bristol in August. Of course you will probably need a golf cart or something to get around. If you guys need some where to stay when you are there we should have room for a couple of more in the 5er. Of course we won't be in the Landing though. But, we will be close. We stay in All American. Get well soon.

Holy #$%& guys - that is some scary stuff. I'm glad you both are okay. Property loss is a pain, but nothing compared to what could happen in a wreck like that. Prayers to you and Wendy as your injuries heal and you get your life back to normal.

Oh yeah, . We are in (relatively) good spirits, and I'm sure the hospital staff thinks we are a little cray. :-)
Then we show them pics of the wreck, and they understand....

We were on the way to Richmond. Figured we'd be watching Dega with Wendy's brother on tv....never thought I'd be watching it from a Duke University Hospital bed.
We were very lucky in that the first people to the scene was an off duty EMS crew. And the fact the it only took about 5 minutes by ambulance to get to Duke.

As far as I know, we got tagged in the left rear by a Toyota Scion, it got me out of control, and into a tree bank. And we found a tree to stop us.
Been a fun few days in the Duke University Hospital. Wendy is getting her release done now, but I'm still a little up in the air. I'll have an erector set in my ankle for 3-4 weeks while I heal. So unfortunately bowling and golf will be done for a little while. Hopefully Bristol in August is far enough out I can shoot to make it there, but am not going to push it.

Tim, spoke with Wendy briefly this am. Getting in touch with some friends/coworkers that are in Raleigh to stop by to visit and see if they can be of any help while you guys are there. Told Wendy either of you just call me and I'll be wherever you need me to be. :)
Love you both

Thanks, Gail. May want to hold off on getting too many folks coming this direction, as I think I'm getting pretty close to release and any more bodies in and around could just slow up the process. :)

The Ortho cleared me today, just waiting on clearance from the general surgeon (I think). All signs are pointing toward me heading home today.

Glad you both are doing well and heading home soon. I have to ask, did the jello shots make it? ;)

Unfortunatejy, there was jello shot lossage.
The good news is we are home. Feeling a little overwhelmed with all that needs to be done.

"Unfortunatejy, there was jello shot lossage."
Oh well as a wise man once said, "Jello shots may come and go but good friends are hard to find" well, something like that! We can make more :)
Glad you both are on the road to recovery, take it easy and hope to see you soon!

Good news to hear that you're both home! Now the tough road to recovery begins. Don't let that part get to you. My wife and I were both on crutches at the same time this past December & January. It was hard at first but we learned to adapt rather quickly. We'll be looking forward to see you two @ Bristol next spring.
