MONTREAL - As a Busch Series team owner, Kevin Harvick is liking NASCAR's first trip to Montreal for the Napa Auto Parts 200 this weekend at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

It is the first time the Busch Series is trekking north of the border, and complements the series' other international event, one in Mexico City that has been staged the last three years.

"It's not a difficult thing - getting into Canada is a lot easier than getting into Mexico," Harvick said. "Plus it's a lot safer. You can wander around the street and not worry about your stuff getting stolen or something like that.

"It's not like you're going hundreds of miles into a country; you're just going across the border."

Harvick and many of the other drivers arrived in Montreal on Wednesday to take advantage of a full day of practice scheduled for Thursday.

"For me, it kind of broadens our horizons going to places like this," Harvick said. "I think it brings a different appeal from a sponsor's aspect. ESPN, when they do the coverage on these events, it winds up being an international event.

"It brings a lot of different appeals to the sponsors and things like that. As the series grows, I think it's a good way to learn. If we're ever going to do that on the Cup side, I think this is a great place to learn how to do it."
