This sort of got started on another page (tracks) but I thought it would be a good discussion here. Now if you could change any NASCAR rules, what would they be, and why? Here are a few of mine.
*No start and park teams allowed. If you're not prepared and sponsored enough to race in cup, head on down to a lower level series where it is less expensive and you'll have a better chance of being successful. The cup series is the elite series, come prepared to play. I pay to see 43 teams race, I want to see 43 teams race.
*Fastest 43 cars make it, doesn't matter where you are in the points standings, no more top 35 in points with a guarrenteed start. If Johnson or Jr. don't qualify on time, they're out. I pay to see the fastest teams race. If one week Johnson or Jr aren't the fastest, let someone who was better prepared race.
*If you're a cup driver and you finish in the top 12 in the previous season, you cannot race in Nationwide or the Truck series the next season. These are the development series, and those teams can't compete with the deep pockets of the elite cup series drivers. Let Nationwide and Truck continue to be the farm teams and develop tomorrows top drivers. Sure, cup drivers may put a few more people in the seats, but they are also taking away possible sponsorship dollars, starting spots, and exposure from development drivers and teams.
*Points belong to the driver, not the car number. I'm tired of an owner moving drivers between cars so that a driver, who would normally have to qualify on speed, now has the car points on his side and is guarrenteed a starting spot.
Let the discussion begin!
