loose lug nuts!

The lug nuts on three of the wheels on Kyle Busch's race truck were found to be loose. The team found the loose wheels just prior to starting the race last night. The question is did someone loosen the wheels while the truck was impounded in the garage?

They were talking about this on Nascar SIRIUS radio this morning, apparently they found 11 loose lug nuts on several different trucks, including Kyles and Austin Dillions.

AT 9:15 am they are interviewing the director of the truck series on Nascar SIRIUS radio to discuss this, but I don't have a radio in work so I won't be able to check it out. If anyone can listen to it, let us know what is said.

Wayne Auton was just on and said that the trucks were impounded between qualifying and just prior to the race for 6 hours. The entire time they were in a locked, fenced in area. He also said that regardless of what has been reported there were only two trucks in question. Both of the teams said that this is a non-issue and that one team checked their lug nuts and one didn't even though that is the normal thing to do on a checklist prior to the event. There is no investigation going on. IMO it sounds like a couple guys failed to do their job. One failed twice.
