I must say that I am very impressed with what I have seen leading up to the race, I dont like the fact that they dont have camping, and froma personal note I am still mad that my family did not take me there in 67 to see Expo

The absolute toughest circuit that drivers have seen anywhere according to Rusty Wallce.

Nascarcamping

Island was made in the 60's for Expo 67, Track was made I think in 82 or so, very nice area, lots of History, anywhere up and down the St.lawrence is where Canada/US was formed, lots of battles, etc...

Now I know why I hate Robby Gordon.
If He would have just stayed in line after his spin he would've been in 1st....but nooo!

Robby was robbed. He made a clean pass and got stuffed. I dont blame him for doinig what he did. As usually Nascar has it out for the little guy.

If people think he was robbed so be it.....I diagree with what he did after....

Riplin

Ya your right. We sure dont want to see any emotion on the race track. All that does is wreck it for everone. How about Harvick he stuffed Scott. And that got him the win. Should we hang him to?

tmheld
08-04-2007, 11:09 PM
Harvick did that when it was green... Robby sped by 18 cars and bumped Ambrose 3 times under yellow. Emotion is great to see but if rules aren't followed then what do you have?

Nascarcamping

I taped the last 24 laps so I am going to go watch it now

JimmieJohnson

I dont understand all the rules. I think it will be interesting to see what NASCAR has to say about all of this.

In this case the rules were clear..agressive driving put Gordan to last car on the lead lap and he did not drop back. Whether or not that was the right call or not, that was the call at the time. I don't know what the rules are for going green when a driver does not comply, but Nascar had to know that Robby was going to wreck Ambrose.

Nascarcamping

Well I just watched it, and I can see why Robby did it,( meaning I think I understand that he thinks Nascar was wrong hence the reason why he did not drop back after Nascar said for him to do so) he truly believe that he was in the lead when the caution came out.

BUT, the big question is, where was the scoring loop when the yellow came out?

Just because you see a flagman with a yellow flag waving does not mean that that point is where the scoring takes place.

It would take place at the last scoring loop.

Is this the best way to do it?

My answer in a short way is no.

Road courses are different animals than ovals, maybe we have to go to a GPS based system so it can be figured out with no mistake.

I redid this post

Well if they penalize Robby, they should also have to penalize Marcos, as he spun Robby after the caution came out. Last time I checked, NASCAR said that it was a big "No No" to intentionally hit or wreck someone during a caution.

Again, My thought is that Robby was in the lead when the caution came out,

why did he feel the need to race back up to the front and bump Ambrose when Nascar should have given him 1st place with 3 laps to go.

He screwed hiself.

So, I thought of this more, and this is pretty much what you can bet happened, and or happens.

The big guys upstairs say throw the caution.

This gets relayed to the Chief Official.

He then radios to all the flag bearers to start to wave the caution.

Now, the flag guys and gals are human, so they have to get themselves into position, pick up or get the right flag out, and start to wave.

This could all take what 5-15 seconds before the flag is seen by the drivers going by?

But, I can gurantee that when the Chief official makes the call, there are notes made via pictures or what have you in regards to where the cars are in relation to the scoring loops.

This then takes priority over when and where the drivers actually see the first yellow thrown.

I dont think Robby got the black flag because he bumped Ambrose, I think he got it because he did not follow Nascars orders and drop back.

Coming from a very obvious Robby Gordon fan, this will sound bias. But he DOES get the raw end all the time. Watch a few of the races at the beginning of the season (I believe one was Vegas) when he lost a tire, NASCAR systematically will wait until he loses a lap BEFORE they will throw the yellow.

I know he is not the most beloved driver out there...he is aggressive, and passionate about what he does. I have seen first hand (MANY TIMES) what a nice person he is to fans. Like I have said repeatedly in the past...take the time to meet him...if everyone did there would be a sea of Jim Beam shirts in the stands on Sunday's.

AFTER further review...I have watched the replay of the incident with him and Ambrose, you can CLEARLY see the flag person waving the yellow flag before Ambrose tags Robby. THAT would say the field was FROZEN then and what happened after that was not attributed to the caution. Therefore he should NOT have had to restart in the 12th (or wherever it was) position. I am sorry...Robby fan or not, the caution flag was waving, watch it on trackpass on nascar.com.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

that shot I did not see, that would then change things......

I think the Pig better get her nightstick out and start the march to nascar Head Office :D

Here is a little joke, " the command was given in French so the flag guys and gals did not understand it"
