Camping World offers RV tours and have one for Daytona 2008 and I just signed up. It sounds like a pretty comprehensive package:
6 nights camping with full hookups
Welcome dinner / Departure breakfast
Reserved tix to all races and time trials
Tour of the track/pits
Motor coach transportation to and from CG / Track
DAYTONA USA Motorsports Attraction
Daytona Beach Tour
plus a lot of other neat stuff.
It costs about $1000 per person which sounds like a pretty good deal. 8)
It will be our first trip to a NASCAR race and we are looking forward to it especially since its the big anniversary!
Anyone ever take a camping world tour? Is it worth the $$$$? :?:

I also saw that trip on line and it sounded nice. Already have tickets and a spot at the speedway, where do they have you camping on this package I was never able to figure it out. You will have a blast!! Daytona is just one of those tracks you HAVE to do at one point.

The camping is set up at the Volusia County fairgrounds. We've never been there so have no idea if its a good campground or not. All we know is we have 6 nights of full hook ups included in the package. Heck as long as we have a place to grab a shower, we can survive most anything else. We have dry camped in our Class B Van Camper a few times. Showering in it is possible although we have never done it. Its just such a hassle to set it up to shower in that small space.

You'll be aways from the track for sure, think about 15 or so miles, guess they will bus you in daily. Having full hookups will be nice, and it seems you've got some other fun things to do with the group, dinners, tours etc so you shiuld be in for a great time for sure. You've picked a great year to go with it being the 50th anniversary, there will be all kinds of extra stuff going on around town. if you have a car also (or can carpool with others in your group) there will some great local tracks racing during speedweeks also. Volusia County Speedway (Speedpark) is on SR 40 in Barberville about 17 miles west of Daytona. Good racing there, also New Smyrna Sppeedway is a nice track also, they usually have something going on during speedweeks also. Lots to do and enjoy

I know a lot of the boys head to New Smyrna for the races, let me know what you want, come to think of it, with this being the 50th and all, this might just be good enough for its own forum altogether :D

Might not be a bad idea Boss, alot of people making big plans to go to this one for sure. Would be nice if we could figure a way for alot of us to meet there somehow sometime, like Hooters across the street on maybe Wed nite or something like that since we'll be camped all over the place, Inside, outside, offsite etc
