Nascar Nextel Cup Hot Pass by DirectVu a huge failure and disappointment

So, the race started and guess what? .....NO FEED

Then it showed up after 30 minutes or so, and guess what?.....its not what I paid for!

Instead of the in-car camera shots and awesome sounds, and front and rear views from the cameras, we now get 3 to 4 different views all different drivers, heck one time I had Denny Hamlin on Tony Stewarts channel!

And what use is 3 or 4 views at the same time, when they are to small to even see them?

Also, I dont need another channel of commentary, that is not the purpose of the in-car cameras, if I want to hear commentary, I will listen to the main network feed.

Reporters interviewing people, talking to much, blah, blah, blah, blah, enough already, scrap this new junk and give us back what we want!.

What a huge mistake and dismal failure.

I agree.....not at all impressed with it. During commercial you still got commercials. I didn't have problems with the feed just wasn't impressed with the screen size or actually any of it!!!!

Luckily I had not paid for it since Daytona was free....now I definetly not pay for it!!

Sorry to hear the others disappointment about Hotpass. Honestly, we love it.

Last year, we missed two of the 36 races due to conflicts with our local stations programming (Indians game was shown instead of race). Now, there is no way we will miss a race. We also like it because you still receive feed during commericials, so when something happens (caution) or they go green before the commercial ends, we get to see it. Another plus, information you receive on the driver channel is a lot quicker than that on FOX (i.e. if a driver is having engine trouble, you know about it way before what you do on FOX) And having the inside audio with the driver....is great. Even though you can't be at the race with your scanner, you can still hear the crew audio. The ability to change the audio from FOX to the crew audio is very convenient. For those of us that do not have High Speed Internet or DSL available in our area (live in the country) and Trackpass doesn't run properly, DirecTV Hotpass is a wonderful plus.

Only thing I really miss is the strolling ticker at the top of all the drivers positions. I find we do have to switch to FOX every once in a while to find out the positions of the other cars. But I wrote DirecTV just yesterday regarding this suggestion. Received nice reply, stating great suggestion and they will look into it for the future.

For $2.85 a race, I feel it's definitely worth it.

Today I was a little happier with the Trackpass.

I was listening to the 99 car and the guys covering it.

First Hermie Sadler was one of the reporters so that is a step in the right direction.

Second, the lead reporter was always asking for help, especially to Hermie, so that was good to hear.

Third, they never cut the guys mic's off when at commercial, so that was cool, listening to them go on about other stuff and what they where going to talk about next, etc... That I liked, keep it up!

I guess what I am going to have to do, is listen to all the reporters and find out " who is who" on air.

I am imagining that there are different reporters for each drivers, as I was listening to Michael Waltrip, .......would anyone want to guess who he was covering....?

Thats right.... the 44 car Dale Jarrett.....

What did you guys and gals all think, and who did you watch?
