I need lots of help and info. There is a group of us 8-10 and we want to camp at Bristol for the Spring race. Because it is a spring race we would like a camp ground that has electricity and showers.
What are the best camp sites? How cold has it been the last couple of spring races?
Does the cold even matter?

JJ used 2 of my spots at Bristol, and he had a pop-up, he would be good to talk to about this.

I wish it would have been cooler. I was at the August race this year and it was HOT HOT HOT. With 4 or 5 guys in a pop up it should be plenty warm I would think. Pole Position where I stayed had electric and showers and was very nice.

This was our campsite when we were setting up. We had M-24 in Pole Position. M-23 was open too, so we could spread out.

Yes that was on the end. There was a big hill (steep) right behind us and over the hill was a big ravine. The dog would climb the hill and play on top and go down into the ravine. She loved it, other than the heat.

Already making plans for 2008. We'll be hitting spring Dover (maybe both), both Pocono, the Glen, Richmond (trying to get season tickets), fall Charlotte, possibly spring Darlinton. Anyone else planning on camping at any of these races?

Hi, I'm heading to the Bristol spring race this year (my first nascar race ever!) ... could anyone tell me what I could expect for weather (ie. I'll be camping in a tent). I am from southern ontario so I do understand what cold can be like.
Thanks in advance

It can be from 70 to 25 degrees, you need to just watch the weather channel. One year it was snowed out for a day and it can be nice and warm.
Good luck

glaze68,
We (approx 5-10 people) have been camping at Famer Bob's Campground for 6 years with a pop-ups and a tents. The fans at FBC are awesome and it's right across the hwy 394. www.farmerbobcampground.com
Hello Glaze68,
We like to camp at Lakeview RV Park for the Bristol Spring Race. It is a full service campground, so it has private showers, full hookup, etc. The campground is three miles from BMS, but they have a shuttle that takes you to the track both days of the races and drops you off at the end of the drag stip entrance. After the races the shuttle picks you up in the commercial bus lot beside the drag strip entrance. There is a pretty good group of Canadians that camp there.
As far as the weather goes!!! three years ago the Busch race was stopped for snow and the pit crews had a snowball fight. It was cold the next day too. I about froze my a__ off both days. The next year the two days of the races were probably the two nicest day of the year. Last year it was rainy on Saturday and pretty nice on Sunday. I'm an optimist, so I'm counting on nice weather this year. KWC
