Good to have you onboard Mr tech!!!!

Here's my question. I have a 2003 KZ Coyote hybrid. When I purchased it (used) from a dealer, the dealer had just installed new tents, and I'm assuming thats because of the tearing problems that the hybrid tents are known for. Then I had a problem with the tent corners pulling out, the dealer "fixed" the problem, but now those same corners have torn on me. KZ covered the tents (but not the install) under warranty, and sent me new tents (supposed to be new and improved). I figure the dealer, since he installed / fixed the tents on that unit twice without good results, I'm not sure he knows how, so I'm willing to take on the installation myself.

I have a feeling that the cables that support the bunk are not adjusted correctly, putting too much tension on the tents where they attach to the trailer, especially the corners, and thats why they have come out, and torn.
So I'm thinking they should be shortened up just a bit before the tents are installed. Do you agree, and, do you have any other suggestions to installing the tents?
Thanks

does your tent ends also have support bars for the bed base?
if so what i have found is they do not offer enough support putting more tension on the cable then tearing the corners if you could add more support there that will help greatly. If not shortening the cables to the point that when wieght is put on the bed and the canvas is not being pulled then go for it

No, my hybrid does not have any support bars, just the 2 support cables (for each bunk), and there is a bit of adjustment built in to them, so I may just shorten them up a bit when I put the new tents in to take the pressure off.

Thanks

good luck
just keep an eye on those corners, cables will stretch and the tent ends will shrink
