Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing."
Track Location: MESSAGE FROM NASCAR CAMPING'S FOUNDER: (posted February 14, 2008) Due to the disgusting attitude and actions of Daytona officials as well as their lack of honesty, all of the activities which were scheduled to be held this year in the Daytona infield at our clubhouse (which was snatched away from us in a highly unethical and immoral fashion!!), are obviously cancelled. This has disgusted me so much that I have cancelled my entire vacation to Daytona this year. What is even more disappointing is the fact that after reporters took them to task about taking the amenities away, Daytona officials denied any wrongdoing on their part. Regrettably, tonight our Annual Valentine’s Day Social for the ladies is cancelled. All additional activities that have been held each year since it has been built are obviously cancelled as well. Daytona, you need to come clean here or you will forever be portrayed in an unflattering, untrustworthy light. Shame, shame, shame. FURTHER UPDATE FROM DAYTONA: (posted February 12, 2008) It is with further regret that we have to inform you that the Lake Lloyd members have also lost the exclusive use of their outdoor Tiki Bar. This outdoor bar and gathering area which has been for the exclusive use of the Lake Lloyd guests is now open to the general public.
BREAKING NEWS FROM DAYTONA: (posted February 10, 2008)
"Members of the Exclusive Lake Lloyd Premium RV area are in shock and disbelief as they are finding out that they have lost the use of the Board Walk Clubhouse that was designed exclusively for their use as a member of this most prestigous campground." At $ 3,000.00 per spot, and advertised for their exclusive use, you can understand how and why people are so upset when they roll in with their Million dollar rigs and find out that the clubhouse that they have used for the last 4 years has been taken away from them in a very questionable manner. The clubhouse is now a retail store for Camping World. What is so shocking about this, is the way Daytona has handled this, in not letting anyone know they no longer had the use of the clubhouse, and still advertising that they do at the same time. The Clubhouse has been the scene of many events hosted by members themselves over the years and people from this website and its owner. This story and the anger from its members will no doubt grow by the minute as more people roll in to hear the bad news.
