KONI SHOCKS

Bouncy Baby Bunny is one of my daughter's favourite books, and is all about a bunny that would just not stop bouncing!

Great for Bunnies, but not Motorhomes. If you are like me, your current coach may be a victim of the dreaded "Bouncing" syndrome.

How do you know if your rig is bouncing too much?

Well, if you are like me, someone who has driven over 200 brand new coaches, you tend to notice right away when something is amiss. My rig, a 40 foot 2004 diesel pusher, was undershocked right from the factory. After much research and talking and debating over what manufacturer's aftermarket shock would go on my rig, I settled on Koni.

Why, you ask?

Simple: everyone I talked to appreciated that the twin-tube Koni was adjustable, where the other brand was not. They also said the other brand, although better than the stock shock, delivered a stiff ride.

I was not after a stiff ride. So, after buying and taking delivery of 8 brand new Konis and having them installed, away I went on my maiden voyage. Even before leaving the yard, the difference was immediate:I noticed a decreased side to side body roll while going through the pot hole yard, which has uneven pavement. This was a surprise to me, as I never thought of this as another way that new shocks would benefit me. As soon as I hit the road, I braced myself for a stretch of road that was terrible, but alas..... the rig was handling the dreaded bumps much better.

Have you ever gotten that feeling that you know something is better, but you don't want to celebrate too soon, as the improvement might not last? Well, that's how I felt while driving. But in this instance it did not end, and the terrible road simply became a bad road that was tolerable.

The Koni's are an incredible difference, I suggest to anyone out there who is looking for a better ride to seriously considering buying new shocks from Koni.

Justin at Koni Shocks forwarded me the new FSD shocks, and they are now being installed on my motorcoach. A driver's report to follow- stay tuned!
