| PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
This website is an online resource for NASCAR enthusiasts, so if you have a great picture of Phoenix International Raceway, send it to us for inclusion here. Send us your track stories as well.
In 1964, when Phoenix International Raceway was carved out of the foothills of the Estrella Mountains, it was intended to be a new jewel in the crown of American open-wheel racing. Today, PIR has a tradition that is unmatched in the world of racing.
The track features variable banking, from 9 to 11 degrees, and has a 'dog leg' curve on the backstretch that is not seen on other courses.
